The hotel was in an excellent location, we walked everywhere in Rome from the hotel. There was never a need to take a taxi. The hotel had a cozy continental breakfast and wine service in the afternoons and evenings. The hotel staff was friendly and informative. The rooms were a decent size and the bathroom had a huge bathtub for relaxing in the evenings. Although the TV in the room wasn't great, we were busy sightseeing and eating, and in the evening we had downloaded movies onto our laptop to enjoy.

Although not comparable with the more opulent four star hotels on the nearby Via Veneto, the Hotel Executive is a perfect base to explore Rome. Certainly the rooms are small, but really, what do you want a big room for? The hotel is removed from the tourist hordes but within easy walking distance of attractions such as the Galleria Borghese and Bernini's statue of St Teresa in SM della Vittoria on via XX Settembre. The neighbourhood is full of agreeable restaurants - il Padovano and la Casa di Alice on via Bergamo, the neapolitan pizzeria on via Piave, and many more besides - so that you can eat very well for very little. A taxi home from the city centre will only cost you about €10, and piazza fiume is well served by buses. As many of these reviews attest, Rome is a minefield of dreadful hotels. Mercifully, the Hotel Executive is not one of them.

Hotel may have been nice in the past but not now, paint peeling from walls and ceiling, carpets that may never have been cleaned. Unreliable w-fi service. Surly, unfriendly staff. Location just so-so. Hotwire.com calls this a four star hotel comparable to Hyatt, Marriott and Intercontinental. Not even close! I paid $102 per night for six nights and consider this to be a two star hotel not a four star hotel.

We booked this hotel not knowing what to expect through hotwire.com. When we arrived we got a room with a small balcony facing the street. The rooms are smaller than what you find in a cruise ship. They are clean and adequate for staying . We paid $ 90 per night for a double room. The breakfast is ok, regular continental style. The elevators are very small just for 2 people. You cant fit your luggage ! The bus stop is close by and conveient to go all over Rome. We got a Roma Pass for Euro 23 which covers unlimited bus rides and enterance to 2 museums of your choice.The hotel is fairly clean and convenient with plenty of buses to the terminii station.
