My husband and stayed for 4 nights in mid February and paid £60 a night for the 2 of us which included breakfast. I considered this to be very good value.
Location is just outside central Rome but we enjoyed the walking as it enabled us to see the city in a way you can't when using public transport.
The three male receptionists were rather dour. They seemed more interested in searching the internet for budget flights for themselves than seeing to our needs.
Room was smallish and a bit on the shabby side but pillowcases were changed daily which impressed me.Room overlooked a building site on which no work was being carried out during our stay.
I would not rate this as 4 star hotel, more of a 3star but would use it again at such a reasonable price.

A friend and I have just returned from an enjoyable 3 night stay at Hotel Executive. It is a small, clean hotel just outside the centre of Rome approx 15 mins walk to Spanish Steps. Rooms are basic but very clean and adequate for our site seeing trip. The staff were helpful and friendly and most of them spoke English. There is a bus stop just around the corner and you can buy a ticket from the nearby kiosk for 1 euro to get the bus into the centre of Rome or to Termini Station if you prefer not to walk. From Termini Station we got a two day ticket for one of the 'hop on' 'hop off' tourist busses and would recommend this to find your way round the famous sites. Breakfast was pletiful with cereals, fruit, pastries, rolls, ham, cheese and much more to choose from. The bar in the hotel stayed open until 10pm and served snacks and hot drinks as well as alcohol. Overall a comfortable hotel just off the beaten track.

I have stayed several times at this hotel in Rome. I love the fact that it is not in a real "touristy" location. I like the local atmosphere. The rooms are a little on the small side compared to American Hotel rooms, but who cares. In Rome, who sits in their Hotel room? If you do, then you shouldn't be in Rome. The rooms are spotless. The bathrooms are more than adequate. The lobby is very welcoming and the owner and staff are wonderful. They go out of their way to please. There is some construction going on behind the hotel but that can be the case anywhere and in Rome it seems there is always construction of some kind happening. We learned that the construction was held up by the Italian government because they found some "relics" during the digging. They serve a breakfast that is better than anything I have ever had at an American Hotel. Pastries, Yogurt, Eggs, Ham, Juice, cereals, more than I can remember. They also serve very "memorable" American Coffee. I long for it even after I am back at home. Even though the hotel is not in the "center" of Rome, it is easy to get around with the busses only 1/2 block away. The transportation system in Rome is something to be admired. I highly recommend this Hotel. C. Falk , Minnesota USA

Our room was very comfortable and clean with a good shower. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. Although this hotel is not in the centre of Rome we found that this was an advantage because the rooms were very quiet at night. Also, the distance was not a problem because the buses are frequent and run untill midnight. Breakfast was very nice with a good choice and good quality food. I would recommend this hotel to couples or small groups of friends.

When we arrived the hotel by taxi, there was immidiately staff present to take care of our luggage, a friendly, but hardly english spoken eployee that took our cases all the way up to our rooms. That was actually quite necessary, the elevators had hardly room for two people.
We were given a room in fourth floor, with a little balcony. Quite tiny, but clean and tidy. A small bathroom, with a tiny showerroom and a bidee(or what it's named) crammed behind the door for some reason. But overall the room was ok, it had a good ecuipped minibar, and the AC worked well in 30 degrees outside. It altso had a digital roomsafe, which wasn't securely mounted though. The neighbour area is a construction site, but noone worked there as long as we stayed.
We stayed for 4 days, and the only thing we weren't to happy about, was the very limited breakfast table. There were two somewhat hard types of pastry, eggs, and cheese and ham. Exept that, some types of jam in small portion boxes, and some sereals. After four breakfasts we were kind of tired of egg, ham and cheese..the coffee was fantastic though=)
The hotel staff was very serviceminded and helpful, and most of them spoke OK english, by italian standards.
For computer nerds, there is a free WiFi zone in the lobby, but for some reason they change the crappy 200 digit WEP hexcode every day(so yesterdays guests can't come back and steal netaccess=)
When you want to travel around in the city from the hotel, the easiest way is to buy a metropass (bus, metro, city trains) for three or seven days on one of the metros or Termini. There are many buses to Piazza Fiume (right beside the hotel), or from via Salaria, the street to the right from hotel exit. The yellow bus-signs tells you where the busses stops, so don't go buing an expensive map. You'll get a free tourist map in the lobby, thats all you need.
The conclusion is that Hotel Executive has the standards you need if you're going to Rome to see the city. If you're going to have a hotel vacation and stay in your room(why go to Rome then?), watch TV and slumber in a steambath we would recommend other. We payed about E40 pr. person pr. night, witch I think is a reasonable price.

  • Liked — Friendly and helpful staff, relatively central to sightseeing, and reasonable price
