Our room was very comfortable and clean with a good shower. The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. Although this hotel is not in the centre of Rome we found that this was an advantage because the rooms were very quiet at night. Also, the distance was not a problem because the buses are frequent and run untill midnight. Breakfast was very nice with a good choice and good quality food. I would recommend this hotel to couples or small groups of friends.

When we arrived the hotel by taxi, there was immidiately staff present to take care of our luggage, a friendly, but hardly english spoken eployee that took our cases all the way up to our rooms. That was actually quite necessary, the elevators had hardly room for two people.
We were given a room in fourth floor, with a little balcony. Quite tiny, but clean and tidy. A small bathroom, with a tiny showerroom and a bidee(or what it's named) crammed behind the door for some reason. But overall the room was ok, it had a good ecuipped minibar, and the AC worked well in 30 degrees outside. It altso had a digital roomsafe, which wasn't securely mounted though. The neighbour area is a construction site, but noone worked there as long as we stayed.
We stayed for 4 days, and the only thing we weren't to happy about, was the very limited breakfast table. There were two somewhat hard types of pastry, eggs, and cheese and ham. Exept that, some types of jam in small portion boxes, and some sereals. After four breakfasts we were kind of tired of egg, ham and cheese..the coffee was fantastic though=)
The hotel staff was very serviceminded and helpful, and most of them spoke OK english, by italian standards.
For computer nerds, there is a free WiFi zone in the lobby, but for some reason they change the crappy 200 digit WEP hexcode every day(so yesterdays guests can't come back and steal netaccess=)
When you want to travel around in the city from the hotel, the easiest way is to buy a metropass (bus, metro, city trains) for three or seven days on one of the metros or Termini. There are many buses to Piazza Fiume (right beside the hotel), or from via Salaria, the street to the right from hotel exit. The yellow bus-signs tells you where the busses stops, so don't go buing an expensive map. You'll get a free tourist map in the lobby, thats all you need.
The conclusion is that Hotel Executive has the standards you need if you're going to Rome to see the city. If you're going to have a hotel vacation and stay in your room(why go to Rome then?), watch TV and slumber in a steambath we would recommend other. We payed about E40 pr. person pr. night, witch I think is a reasonable price.

First of all I'll say that I'd booked this hotel at a special promotional rate of, I think £60 a night, so I wasn't going expecting luxury but knowing that I've saved a few quid. For that kind of money I enjoyed my experience there.
The hotel is situated in between Castro Pretorio and Spagna metro stops and it is aprox. 15 min. walk to either station. I didn't mind that. It is a 5 min. walk to villa Borghese and the gallery, so you can just drop in and book your time slot there, especially valuable if you're planning on using your roma pass as you can't pre-book on-line without paying. There are a few shops and local restaraunts around the area that are excellent and charge you "local" prices! Now about the hotel itself: the rooms are extremely small, probably the smallest double room I've seen, however, extremely clean. The bathroom was quite large and very clean also. Extremely efficient air-conditioning with various settings that also work! - very important in August! The breakfast is quite good and the staff are very friendly and willing to help! Overall, it is a decent hotel, I'm not quite sure if it rises up to a 4 star criteria, but at least, it is a high 3 star one. So if you don't mind walking and have a chance of saving on your rate, then go there. If you expect luxury and want to look at Colosseum from your hotel window, then it's not a place for you.

For a brief stop off in Rome I was booked in here in July. For reasons I cannot fathom, I felt like I was treated like a visiting Head of State, including being booked into a room with a massive terrace looking back towards the city, complete with flags and balcony for me to do my Il Duce impressions.

Rooms in Rome are always a bit on the small side, and so was this, but perfectly comfortable and air conditioned. Breakfast was actually better than the usual Italian stale pastries, with good choices in a large breakfast room. The service was fine, and gave me some free Italian lessons into the bargain! The only downside is the building site next door, which the management are hardly responsible for, and must view with ever increasing frustration!
