My husband and i stayed here for about a week, the location is perfect for first time visitors to Rome. We walked to the colossuem, trevi fountain, pantheon, etc. The only one we didnt walk to was the Vatican. Hotel is 5 minute walk to termini which was perfect. Plenty of restaurants and bars in the area, laundromat across the road. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was cleaned every day, fresh towels. Breakfast was more than enough for me although my husband prefers more a hearty breakfast. We will definately stay here again on our next trip. The area is very noisy, but close the window and shutters at night, you dont hear a thing.

We used the Hotel Gabriella for a one night stay in Rome following a cruise. We arrived a bit early and were immediately upgraded to a larger room based on the amount of luggage we had from the 12 night cruise. This is a very basic hotel by American Standards, but was clean and comfortable and quite. Location is only four blocks from the central train and bus depot and neighborhood had many great little sidewalk cafes and restaurants. If you can put aside your American expectations you will find this is an excellent value in a great location. Would definetely go back again.

The hotel is build in a typical old stone building... has friendly staff... quite welcoming and prompt. Rooms are strictly okay... small actually, and the telephone in the room was not working. However, the breakfast is much better for such a budget hotel... so you can be sure of a decent spread of breakfast.... and the chef is friendly.

I stayed in hotel Gabriella last summer... I was in Rome on business and needed a hotel close to the Termini Station. The hotel is not as close to the Termini Station as indicated in the description. It is about 4 lanes away... around 500 meters from Termini... although the distance is not much... the lanes get secluded... making it slightly lonely a street to walk... especially in winter... However, in summer it is good hotel to stay in... budget hotel... around 80 to 100 Euros a night... if you are two people staying it works out cheap. The Termini station market provides a good spread of food... so you wont starve even if you are late for dinner. Shopping malls, restaurants a plenty around... I had a lovely stay at the Hotel.

Booked this hotel based on the description on booking.com. This place was frightening. The room had scuff marks all over the walls, a light bulb was missing, and it was hot as hell. The staff refused to turn on air conditioning. After going out for a bit to eat, we felt extremely unsafe in the neighborhood. We immediate returned and left the hotel. The staff refused to issue a refund. I've filed a dispute with my credit card company. Stay away from this place. Beware any hotel that wants to charge you up front. There is no way on earth this is a three star hotel. It should be one star.

My sister and I have never been treated as well as we were at the Hotel Gabriella! The room was comfortable and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was very clean.

Our breakfast was served in a small dining area close to our room. The American coffee was hot, food was plentiful and served by smiling faces.

The three sisters (and mother and father) who own and operate the hotel are gracious and informative. They answered our questions and directed us to several wonderful restaurants in the area. They helped with transporation needs and tour bookings. There was a small charge to use the internet to access our emails. That was most convenient!

The hotel even went so far as to book us into another "family owned" hotel in Florence! When we left (after four delightful nights), we gave and received hugs with promises to come back as soon as possible.

What a fabulous start to our Italy trip! I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Hotel Gabriella! Carole Belles

  • Liked — The people at the front desk
  • Disliked — The location - several hotels in one building was confusing at first
