My sister and I have never been treated as well as we were at the Hotel Gabriella! The room was comfortable and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was very clean.

Our breakfast was served in a small dining area close to our room. The American coffee was hot, food was plentiful and served by smiling faces.

The three sisters (and mother and father) who own and operate the hotel are gracious and informative. They answered our questions and directed us to several wonderful restaurants in the area. They helped with transporation needs and tour bookings. There was a small charge to use the internet to access our emails. That was most convenient!

The hotel even went so far as to book us into another "family owned" hotel in Florence! When we left (after four delightful nights), we gave and received hugs with promises to come back as soon as possible.

What a fabulous start to our Italy trip! I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Hotel Gabriella! Carole Belles

Stayed for four nights in Hotel Gabriella. When we first arrived we were given a room at the end of the hall on the floor above reception. This room was a strange shape and very noisey as overlooking busy street. The bathroom was a good size and clean but only had a bath with a hand held shower and no curtain. We asked to be moved to a room with a shower and were given a smaller room behind reception. We prefered this room even though we had less space as it was at the back and very quiet from street noise. The bathroom had no bath but had a shower. It was spotless and basic toiletries were provided. Hairdryer on wall was in bad shape and didnt work ( I brought my own luckily) and toilet roll holder was missing. Bed was very comfortable with crisp, clean linen. Air conditioning worked well. As the room was close to breakfast room we were disturbed early every morning as staff prepared breakfast. They spoke in loud voices with no regard for people sleeping in rooms close by. Breakfast itself was dissapointing after the good reviews on tripadvisor. It was very basic and my husband said the coffee was not good. Staff in general were pleasent and helpful about ordering taxis etc.
This hotel is handy for Termini station and we found the metro easy and fast to use. The area is not the prettiest but there are a couple of nice, reasonabley priced restaurents nearby. One or two do good breakfasts too.
All in all this hotel was ok for a budget hotel but if we were to return to Rome we would try to find a hotel near the Spanish steps which is a lovely area.

We were very disappointed with the Gabriella Hotel and I honestly feel that a number of the reviews either had a very different room then we had or the hotel has really dropped its standards. We were told that it was a three star hotel and I would barely give it a two. Our Room #20, was just down the hall from the reception area. When we opened the door we just about passed out from the heat. When we couldn't figure out how to turn on the air conditioner my husband went back to the receptionist who told him that the air conditioner didn't work in that room. He asked for a room where it did work and was told not to worry, the air conditioning wasn't turned on until June anyway. We opened the window onto a very noisy street. The room actually had a smell to it and I noticed mold in the bathroom around the shower and also around the window. I actually took pictures of the mold. The hallways have Air Freshener sprays and wicker oil scents to mask odors. The breakfast was included in the price and was mediocre. You are only allowed one tea or coffee but the servers were pleasant. The bed was not very comfortable but I couldn't sleep just because the heat was terrible in the room. The shower was the smallest I have ever been in and my ballet training came in very well when I dropped the soap and had to do a demi-plie to get it. I think the maid did her best to keep it clean but the ventilation caused the mold problems. The elevator is also very small but beats hauling your suitcase up to your room.. The Hotel is close to Rome Termini the main rail and Metro station. The area is a little seedy but adequate. We were very happy to check out and head to the airport where we found our plane was overbooked and we were then given a lovely room at the Hilton. I certainly would not recommend this hotel. Even in my back-packing youth, I wouldn't pay the money they asked for the poor room we received.

I chose the Hotel Gabriella based on price and proximity to Termini Station. It turned out to be a good choice.
The room was excellent with the bed being very comfortable.
The bathroom was clean and well-appointed.
Breakfast was very good with lots of selection.
The area near the hotel has very good restaurants, great little stores, and wonderful people at the Internet Cafes.
On some mornings, there is a delightful market set up just in front.

We stayed at Hotel Gabriella for 3 nights at the end of January!
Booked due to all the good reviews on this site!
We were not disappointed.
The room we had # 18 was spacious and very immaculate, warm in winter season, and the bathroom was updated and with a modern jacuzzi shower(we really loved after a long day of walking tours)fluffy towels changed daily.
The breakfast had more than enough to offer for us(fresh juice, cappuccino, rolls, croissants, cereals, ham, salami, cheese)
and the breakfast room was so lovely facing the nyce market just down the street.
The service was great,Bruna helped us a lot with suggestion of reaustaurants(try Armendo)and good shopping areas, nothing is too much for her,she even reserve a last minute tour of the Vatican for us,we were glad she did as we saw the long line we missed.Definitely a 5 star service at a 3 star price.
Will return as soon as we can!
