“Enjoyable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 30, 2013

We stayed here for 3 nights before starting a tour with Insight vacations. It is in a great location, easy walking distance to a lot of the sites, friendly and helpful staff and we would stay again. The room was nice, clean and a reasonable size, breakfast included in the charge was a bonus because we found it hard to find breakfast anywhere else unless you want an omlet made in the microwave! (We tried a local cafe the first morning after our walk) Yes the breakfast area is small and seemed very disorganised but the food and staff was good.

This is a nice hotel not too far from the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. The Barberni Metro stop is 200 meters away. The hotel is Modern with Smallish rooms. Typical City centre. Breakfast was a riot. Lots of people arriving about the same time to a small dining room and very small serving area. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Great staff , very helpfull front desk and awsome location
the rooms arent that great , but was a very positive experience over all
the breakfast is basic but enough , as long as u dont expect anything fancy this hotel is great
Ask for rooms with a view to the barberini palace located just behind , which is a splendid morning time trip

We stayed for 3 nights at the Hotel Anglo-Americano hotel, and I'd say that it was a pretty good value hotel overall. It is NOT a luxury hotel with a front desk that will snap to your every whim, but it is modestly priced, modern, clean, and comfortable. We had a good-sized corner room on the 6th floor with a desk, an extra single bed (great to put your suitcases on), and a view of the palace across the way. The beds were quite comfortable, there was ample closet space, and the bathroom was fine by Italian standards. My bathroom had a shower within a tub. My biggest complaint about the bathroom was that there was little to no space to put your hair care/cosmetic lotions and potions on the pedestal sink. However, there was a nice shelf in the closet outside the bathroom where they could be stored. The hotel seems to have been redone recently so everything seemed pretty fresh and new. Unlike most of the hotels we visited on this excursion, the hairdryer actually had some real power to it, which I appreciated. The staff at the front desk seemed quite friendly, although they were not quite as well versed in English as some had been at other places we stayed, but we had no problem at all with them. The lounge area was rather stark, although it had plenty of seating. The location of the hotel was fine. An easy walk to Trevi and the Spanish steps. The breakfasts were underwhelming... the worst of trip. Teeny tiny coffee cups (I swear, the next European trip I make, I'm thinking of bringing a mug with me!), a pile of rolls, cheese and lunchmeat, one or two types of yogurt, cold eggs (3 days in a row).... little care went into the meal and it seemed like there was only one person manning the ship. It's not enough to put me off the hotel, but they would do themselves (and their clientele) a real favor by putting more effort into providing a higher quality first meal of the day.

We spent 5 days for the New Year in Rome, together with our kids (4&8), it was a really nice weather, nice town, good food, good quality time, so the hotel room was only for sleeping.
Positive: location, the hotel is located 1 minute from Piazza Barberini, near the metro station,10 minutes walk from Spanish steps,Trevi fountain and 20 mins walk to
Negative: small room (we booked a family room 1 double+ 2 singles), very small area for breakfast, poor breakfast selection, same menu every day (for 5 days in a raw), no free internet, not even in the lobby, overpriced (as all hotels in Rome actually).
For sure not a 4* hotel. It was not our first time in Rome.

Room Tip: go somewhere else, you can find better hotels

I've travelled to Rome quite a bit for both personal trips and for business as our parent company is in Rome. I loved this hotel - its great location, the rooms are an excellent size and the beds very comfortable, the air conditioning actually works (which is unusual for Rome), the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and it was great value for money. I will definitely use it again. I stayed there with my family in May 2012 and have booked it this week (Nov 2012) to stay for business. When I was there with my family we stayed in a very large family room as we've 2 young children and the hotel was very family friendly. The downsides? Breakfast is not spectacular but is certainly reasonable and there is no full bar at night. However the positives far outweigh the negatives.

Room Tip: If travelling with young children and one of the suites/larger family interconnecting rooms are not...

Very average hotel, dont have any impression at all - negative or positive. May be because we were tired after all day walking during all 4 days we spent in Rome. Only benefit of it its location where almost all of the attractions in walking distance.
