easy to find near termini, good restuarants nearby. walked all sites bar vatican city.receptionist marked map for routes to sites of interest.

We stayed at the Hotel Columbia based on the reviews here on Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed. Literally steps from the train station it made for an easy transfer to FCO via the train. We normally do not stay in this area but were very happy we did. The staff was great and they helped us find some fabulous restaurants in the area (Formula 1 Pizza!!!). The first room we took was a little to small for two people. We moved to room 318 at the end of the hall which was larger and had a better layout. We wanted another room and thought that with the hotel less than half full they would have upgraded us as we were staying 3 nights. No luck…. The lift is glass enclosed so you can see out as you travel up and down. This is was very important for me as I am not a fan of elevators and most of them in Rome are tiny. For my business meeting the hotel was in a great location. To reach the Campo, Pantheon, etc it is a little bit of a hike. (We like to walk) however this is only a minor inconvenience. Cocktail hour on the roof deck is great. We ordered a bottle of wine and could not finish it so they put it aside for us to finish the next night. The breakfast looked great; however I am not one for public food so I cannot tell you how it tasted. I look forward to returning.

I was in Rome for two days (April 11 to April 12) with my wife and I booked this hotel according to the comments on tripadvisor. The hotel is 5 mins' walk from station Termini but if you are arriving via Leonardo Express from airport FCO, it takes 10 mins walk from the place you get off the train.

The area where this hotel is located is full of hotels. Our hotel looks shabby from outside comparing with its neighbours as the building's outface is quite old. But as you walk into the lobby, everything is nice.

The room is clean and big enough for a couple like us，and the bothroom was well-functioned. The room is quite during the night.

The breakfast is nice and you can enjoy it at the outdoor platform on the top of the old building. The lady at the dining-hall was helpful and friendly, though she could hardly speak any English.

One thing I don't like is that there is not free internaet in this hotel.

My husband and I and our 18 year old son stayed at Hotel Columbia for 4 days. We rented the one 'suite' available in the hotel which gave us a bedroom and bath on one level and a stairway to an enclosed loft area with a second full sized bedroom. Located in a very quiet part of the hotel, away from the main street, each bedroom had it's own flat screen TV with English and Italian cable stations. The first floor had a cute little balcony and a dressing area that included a table/chair and space to spread out suitcases and hang things in a closet. Daily breakfast was included in the price of the room. Breakfast was located on the top floor restaurant/bar with outside and inside dining areas and satisfied everyone and was lovely with plenty to eat in the way of cereals, croissants, pastries, meats, cheeses, coffees, tea, etc. The bar is staffed all day/evening so you can go to the bar anytime and order a drink. Our stay was great, the staff helpful with maps and recommendations. The hotel is very conveniently located -- walk to the Termini train station, the Spanish Steps, the metro train station, etc. Very easy to get around to all the main sites from the hotel. I would recommend for even the pickiest travelers (like my husband who was very satisfied).
