have stayed here twice before and really loved it . Disappointed therefore to find that the bathroom and room were not as clean as they could be! The roof terrace was delightful apart from the three american children who played ball around one as we tried to have a quiet drink after an exhausting day - no comment on this from the bar staff!!!

The location was terrific and the people couldn't have been nicer. My room was quite nice, and the breakfast was good. Would stay here again, but I had stayed two nights before at the Valadier around the corner, which couldn't accommodate me the whole time. The Valadier is a little more stylish, and less expensive, which I can't figure. I'd probably stay at the Valadier next time, but if it's booked, and you don't mind spending a little more, the Piranesi is still a very good choice.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. It is above average hotel with considerably expensive price tag. The room was booked by our agent. The rooms are very small, but it was fine for us since we spent most of the day outside anyway, it's just I wish it was less expensive. The location is very good, there is some street noise, but that is the price to pay for such a central location, very convenient. The room, the bathroom was very clean, the breakfast was good, could be much better and I agree with the reviewers who said the breakfast room was too small and stuffy, it is basically in the basement below the lobby, and they could have done a much better job of designing it. The staff were excellent very friendly, very helpful, over all very positive experience. I will recommend it to my friends and family.

The Piranesi was a good hotel that just didn't work for me because of street noise and poor AC/ventilation.
My wife and I had a reservation for 9 nights. In e-mails I had stressed that I was finicky about AC/ventilation, even in October.
We found the hotel itself beautiful, the room high quality, the breakfast room/room service very good and the location superb.
But the AC was turned off building-wide the second night we were there. At my insistence, they turned it back on (they said) but it never worked well and there was also a persistent squeak in the vent.
The killer for me, though, was the street noise. Could hear cars on Via Babuino all night long. A room fan for white noise did not help.
I would have asked about a different room, but I checked first at the Hotel de Russie across the street and found we could get in there for the last 6 nights of our stay. We paid 50% more at the Russie but it was worth it.
The bellmen from the Piranesi very nicely carried our bags across the street and handed them to the bellmen at the Russie.
