We stayed at the Hotel Piranesi for 3 nights in late June and wish it could have been more! Not only is Rome a spectacular destination but this hotel was a joy to "come home to" every night. The front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming, the doorman recognized us walking up the street and greeted us back in, the staff in the dining room at breakfast (delicious and included) was very nice as well. We didn't make it to the rooftop garden cocktail reception but we popped up there late one evening and it was lovely. The bartender was cleaning up and entertained my kids with soccer tales. The staff definitely was a major plus.
Our rooms were great! We booked two for our family of 4 with teens and they placed us in 2 rooms at the end of a hall with a locking privacy door that allowed us to open our two rooms to each other like a suite with 2 bdrms and 2 bathrooms. That was really nice. The rooms were beautifully decorated and furnished and were one of the nicer accomodations we had during our 3+ week trip in Europe, especially for the price.
The location is good, just a short walk to the Flaminio metro station to reach the historic sites, a nice stroll to the spanish steps, and one block over from the Via del Corso shopping!
I would definitely stay here again and hope I have the opportunity to do just that!

I stayed at the Piranesi last spring along with 3 friends. We could not have been more pleased with the hotel. The location was perfect, the rooms were pleasant and clean, and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. We found ourselves looking forward to the delicious breakfast each morning in the lovely breakfast room, and then at the end of a day of sightseeing, a glass of wine in the cozy lobby. The bartender bent over backward to make us feel at home and waited on us hand and foot. The Piranesi is was of those hotels that you try to find in any European city - nice accommodations, friendly staff, good location and reasonably priced. I highly recommend this hotel!!

We stayed here for five nights in a superior double. The room was spacious and had a lovely balcony. The location of the hotel is wonderful for sightseeing. It is just a few steps from the Piaza Popolo and about 2 mins. from the Spanish Steps.
The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful, suggesting great restaraunts and making reservations for shows.
The room is decorated in an empire style, all in yellows with uphostered walls. The only downside is the internet connection which costs about $20. a day.
Breakfast is served in a nice room, and was quite extensive for a "continental" one. Lots of breads and sweet rolls, cheeses and cold cuts, yogurt, fresh fruit, etc, etc.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay in a lovely, intimate, hotel.

Room had a terrific balcony with super views, was very well appointed.

Staff were v friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Great restaurant recommendations.

Location is top class.

Breakfast was good (and complimentary). Tip - the earlier you are up the better it is, as your fellow guests take all of the better offerings.....

The roof garden is super - although we preferred our balcony. Take breakfast up if the weather is good.

Negatives, if I’m being pernickety - and remembering the limitations of the buildings in central Rome - internet connection wasn't great and no 24 hour support available due to it being a small hotel (although technician sorted it the next morning), lift is very slow and small - but hey, what's the rush, power of shower is only ok.

However all in all, 5/5.

My husband and I just returned from a 2 week tour of Italy. During the middle of our stay we decided to return to Rome the night before our flight instead of the day of. We had started our trip out with 2 nights at the Sofitel, but were not overly pleased with the accommodations and decided to try the Hotel Piranesi as it was listed in our guide book. We called and were able to book a junior suite. We arrived late after a long day of train travel. The reception was very welcoming. The front desk person even informed us of a strike happening the next day and offered to confirm our flight times. We were ushered into our suite and were pleased. Upholstered walls, hardwood floors and a beautiful bathroom, cedar lined closet, 3 balconies. The only complaint was the television was tiny and one of the bulky kinds, but we weren’t planning on being in the room so not a big deal. We took an evening stroll in the Piazza del Popolo and it was beautiful! We returned to the hotel and decided upon a nightcap at the bar. I had a bit of a cold so I asked the barman to prepare a hot toddy and told him the ingredients. It was perfect! He served us cake and a chocolate croissant to snack on. We hadn’t had dinner so this was a welcome treat. We spent some time in the sauna before we retired for the night. Breakfast the next morning was delightful and we took in the view from the roof top terrace before our departure. The concierge had arranged a private car to the airport upon our request. Everything was just wonderful and we certainly will return.
