I stayed at Hotel Giada for 3 nights at end of June.
The price was reasonable. I booked a single room for 65 or 70 euros and they gave me a double room!! I was definitely pleased with that. I also knew the location, as this was the 3rd time in Rome. It is situated close to the main Termini Station (convenient to roll luggage to/from station, direct from airport/other city). It is also far enough from the station that it is safe.
The room and bathroom were very clean. I had no problems. There was also proper circulation in the room...in the form of air conditioning (which was necessary at the end of June).
The only thing I would be weary of is the breakfast. It was simple. Edible but not the best. Coffee (any type), cereal, fruity/sugary orange drink (not juice) and a (horrible) type of baked good.
But for the price and during the high summer season, I couldn't have asked for more!

Unfortunately the photographs of the rooms are nothing like the reality. Our tripple room on the 5th floor was large but very gloomy - there was bare grey plaster board ceiling (unpainted) and the decor and furniture generally looked tired and in need of modernisation. The room, however, was clean and the bedding was white, crisp and clean.

Don't expect too much for breakfast - there isn't much choice, bread rolls are hard and stale. Crossoint and coffee are the best bet.

My overall feeling is it is not good value for money and I'm sure there are better hotels in Rome for a similar price. I would say it is a 1-2 star hotel, definiately not a 3.

On the plus side it is in a good position for sightseeing.

  • Liked — Good position for sightseeing.
  • Disliked — Gloomy room.

This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. The elevator broke (while we were in it), the rooms are smelly, and you run out of hot water through a normal shower. The bathroom had a musty smell, that I cannot attribute to anything in particular. It is not a smell you would want to find out on your own. To cap it all off, I think we got scammed for 100 euro (fake note). That point is debateable, but this hotel is not 3 stars...and I'm surprised it is in business still.

Upon check-in, I called the Hilton to book another room. That tells you something.

Stay away...far, far, away.

this hotel was the worst place i have ever stayed the room was small dark and smelled funny. The bathroom was appalling i felt dirtier after a shower as the water stank and made me feel sick just before the hot water ran out, and it was full of insects. Mouldy walls and cracked radiators added to the over all ambience. It was like an eppisode of Fawlty Towers with out the homour. I would advise anyone staying in rome to avoid this hotel.

The Hotel Giada is near Rome Termini and that should of rung alarm bells but thought the location would be handy however my travel agent said it was 3 star and sufficent for 3 nights.

Don't book any hotels if you can help it around the termini.

The reasons are it is very dangerous at night sirens going 247 so noisy you cant have a very good sleep.

The taxi drivers waiting at the Termini just want to rip you off\. They wanted us to pay them 16 euros to take us 2 blocks away to our hotel. Thankfully we had the common sense.

The hotel room was sizeable with a no mini bar not much hot water, stains on the celiing in the bathroom. The breakfast included you should give a huge miss it was a few bread rolls with a few condiments such as nutella. The juice was watered down it tasted terrible. There was a ladder and paint tins about. This would be rated the worst stay and would steer clear of this hotel.
The moment I got there I did not feel vey safe.

Give it a big miss - should never be rated 3 star only 2 if that.

Happy to show you evidence if required.

  • Liked — Nothing - It was horrible.
  • Disliked — stains on the walls in the bathroom.
