This was so far the worst hotel i've been in. The rooms were small and dirty, the elevator was incredibly small, you can see a dump outside your window(you can see it at least from these rooms= 201, 202, 203, 216, 218, 219, 302, 301, 303, 318, 319, 320) and the air conditioning was SO NOISY(it wasnt annoying me but anyway). So I didnt like that hotel at all, although the breakfast was good and the area was quite quiet.

We stayed in the Hotel Brasile for eight nights in December 2008 and we would stay there again. You can take the train from the airport and have a ten minute walk or short taxi from the Termini to the hotel. For excursions around the city, you can catch the metro at the Termini or at the Piazza della Republica, which is a little closer.

The hotel staff was very helpful. They gave us a room on the street side but, because reviews said that could be noisy, we asked for a court side room. They had only one available, and it was smaller than the first room, but they said we could have our choice. We took court side. After five nights we headed for a week in Florence. The hotel stored our extra suitcases at no charge. Upon our return the suitcases were waiting for us in our room, which this time was a relatively large one on the court side. Our rooms were clean and comfortable.

Yes, the showers are small, though the one in our second room was larger than the one in the first. The towels are not plush, but they are large and replaced with clean ones every day. The breakfast was fine and pretty much what we expected (breads, cheese, ham, cereal, etc.).

The one problem was no hot water one late morning.

As a bonus there is a great restaurant on the next corner, Salsamenteria Verdiana. They make their own cured meats and will serve a variety of them on a platter. The restaurant has an opera theme, and often has live music (e.g., three singers and a piano doing Verdi).

  • Liked — great staff
  • Disliked — no hot water one day

This was a last minute family get together booking. What a bad choice. The lowest of the low. Stayed here for 3 nights for our mums 80th birthday. Everything negative that has been said about this 'hotel' is true... the showers are tiny, the towels are so thin I think they are disposable, the breakfast is uugh what the orange juice is made from I dont know but its not oranges. Rooms are tiny, dirty and dusty and you get the remote for the 14" TV only after you leave your passport at reception. Don't be fooled by the flat screen TV on their website its not in the bedrooms its in a reception room downstairs. The stairs and lift reminded me of a scene from a gangster movie set in a New York slum. Best of all its not even cheap at 100 euros a night. Never again!!

two of us stayed at this hotel end of september 2008 for three nights it was a last minute decision to visit rome to end our european holiday

we found this hotel to be in a very safe area as the streets are always patrolled by security gaurds being close by government embasseys. The hotel is in a good location close to buses the metro and termini staion is a short walk you can also walk leisurly to some main attractions and piazzas.

our room was on the second floor it was clean and the beds were comfortable. we had a room that faced the main road but noise was not a problem as the room appeared to be sound proofed . the breakfast served was good and tasty help yourself system
we have funny happy memories from this hotel the shower cubicle is very small too bad if you drop the soap and need to bend down you have to get out of the shower to pick up the soap
if you can manage to squeeze through the door
the towels are not the normal white thin linnen looks more like a table cloth and teal towel but they did the job

as for the lift a bit ancient looked a bit dodgy we preferred to use the stairs but the lift added to the character of the building

the best of all is the reception staff very very very friendly go the extra mile to help you and make you feel welcome
when I return to rome one day
I would stay here again but I would book it direct through the internet you get a better deal I think we paid too much through a travel agent being last minute
all said and done if you want to stay all day in a hotel room with the comforts of home then stay home this hotel is not for you but if you want a safe pleasant stay I reccomend this hotel

  • Liked — the friendliness of reception and staff
  • Disliked — a bit overpriced

Location :- 10 minutes walk from Termini Station
Main Door on Via Palestro across the street from the British Embassy and close to other embassies.
My experience .
Booked on line in a hurry and had no choice as most hotels in the area were full. Asked for a double room . Got two single beds pushed together to make a double. My wife found this very upsetting as she prefers to sleep close to the centre of the bed and she kept ending up on the edge of the mattress which was a bit worn out .It did not help her backpain . Pillows were flat by my standard and only two per room.
The lift is very small , like many hotels in Rome, and only holds 2 persons in comfort. The firts floor is not served by the lift .
The first room which I stayed in , was one of the smallest double I have ever seen. Just enough room to stand tightly around a double bed.The same can be said about the bathroom, so small that I had to go out of it to dry myself with the towel.Towels are paper thin and only two a day are provided. Not enough if a couple take two showers a day.
Talked to the reception and was immediately offered and accepted a very nice room on the first floor which was twice the size of the first , with a reasonably sized bathroom.
Only used the room to sleep, as spent most time out .
Good points : -
1) Receptionists, are older gentlemem who offer good advice and help to all enquiries.
2)Buffet breakfast served at 0700 till 1000 was fair and service was clean.
3)Hotel area is safe , due to patrols by Embassy Security across the road.
4)Well served by the buses just round the corner , which take you to the Vatican and all the Piazzas .
5)Reasonable priced 130 euros for a double .
6) Rooms clean and recently refurbished with double glazed windows and air conditioned .
All this was taken in stride , and the Hotel served its purpose,as a base for a short weekend in Rome centre.
Unlikely but , If and IF I ever book again, I would ensure that I get a large room, not a squeezed room, and get better towels .
I wrote this , to help anyone , but mostly the Management of the hotel, who could fix most of these small problems and make the Brasile a true 3 star Hotel , from the 2 Star which I would rate it , due to these problems.
