“Amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

This little hotel was fantastic. We had a cosy, modern and extremely clean room on floor 3. It was well laid out, with plenty of room, and very comfortable beds. The hotel was undergoing some renovations on one floor, this didn't cause and disruptions, only a little noise early in the morning. The staff were exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable. Centrally located we could walk everywhere, convenient location for sightseeing in Rome with The Vatican only a short 10 minute walk away.

We travelled in to Rome by bus but would have been better just getting a taxi from the airport. The hotel arranged our return transfer for us, and where really helpful throughout our whole stay, especially on our final day when we checked out at 12pm but didn’t need to leave for the airport until 7pm.We was able to store our bags and use the hotel facilities all day!

We loved having breakfast on the roof terrace looking out at St. Peters. The breakfast was choice was outstanding (and delicious), cooked, fresh fruit, yoghurt, continental or cake breakfast and even Prosecco.

In the evening the rooftop bar was fantastic, great Prosecco and nibbles, Willy in charge of the bar was absolutely fantastic.

Would definitely stay here again!

Stayed 4 nights there recently. Very close to St. Peters and within walking distance of Colosseum. Staff very friendly. Breakfast first class, Bar in evening charming!
Room large, good en suite, mini bar
Only issue was the traffic noise at night, we were on 3rd floor, but needed window open.
Highly recommended....

Room Tip: To back if possible, I think, though our room on side was excellent

A great choice of hotel. Convenient location particularly for the Vatican city. Lovely to sit at breakfast looking out at St. Peters. Good value in every way and Willy in charge of the roof terrace is a gem! We had Room 411 which is on an internal courtyard so no noise problems at all. Travelled in to Rome on the Airport train - what a rip off - you could walk faster! Luckily spotted the stop for the Shuttlebus round the corner from the hotel so came back on that for half the price. It also drops you at the door of Terminal 3.
We would certainly recommend the hotel to friends and family.

My wife and I stayed at the Isa Hotel for a short honeymoon in Rome. When booking the room, I remarked this reason for our visit and requested a room on as high a level in the building as possible, if possible.

Of course, we could not expect special treatment. And we did not get it either. We got a room on the 2nd floor with a balcony to the backyard. That was fine, even though we had hoped for a better location of the room.

But it was disappointing that we had to wait 20 minutes for the receptionist to find our reservation, which apparently had been lost, despite that fact that it was made on the hotel website itself and prepaid.

The room was furnished with high quality materials and parquet floor instead of carpet. Nice!

But it was disappointing that the room was so small. It was definitely more suited for a single room. And it may really have been what it was intended for, since there was only one set of towels and one drinking glass in the room.

The bathroom was in fact so small that there was no space next to the sink for one’s toiletry bag. This was very annoying. Also it made no sense that there was a bidet, as it was placed against the wall to the side and therefore practically useless. It was only in the way. Also, the shower cabin was not sufficiently shielded, which resulted in water splashing all over the place. Finally, while the bathroom was very elegantly decorated with marble and mirrors, it was less than elegant that the water did not drain quickly enough from the shower bottom. Thus one would be standing in 5-7 cm (2-3 inches) of dirty water during showering.

On the positive side, the hotel is newly renovated and perfectly clean. There is a nice rooftop terrace and breakfast area with a view of St. Peter’s Basilica. Breakfast is very good and includes a fine Prosecco among the beverages.

Be aware that even if you prepaid the room you will still be charged a city tax of EUR 3 per person per night. I think it would have been more reasonable to inform clearly about this tax and to charge it in the first place (at booking).

CONCLUSION: Our stay could have been perfect, but was less than so due to the small size of the room and lack of attention to various details, which all in all detracted from the good experience.
