Just came back from Rome and stayed at Hotel Center 1 for 3 nights. The hotel location is off the tail end of the termini in what could be described as a grimey not too touristy area. Prepare for a 15 minute walk from the station to the front desk of hte hotel. The front desk service here appears to be run by older senior folk who do not know English at all. Although the rooms are clean, the walls are paper thin and noise from outside and from the lobby can flow in easily. Each hallway has motin detectors which turn on the hallway lights and each room has a vent which shines light from the hallways into each room. Therefore if someone comes back to their room at 3am, the hallways will light up and your room will get somw light too. This is not very good if you are trying to adjust to the jetlag and need some sleep. The morning breakfast is very continental, packaged crackers, buns, orange drink (not juice), and coffee.
Bottom line, this is a no frills, you get what you pay for semi hostel type place..Proceed with caution..
