We stayed at this hotel for a weekend when we went to the Italy vs Wales six nations rugby game. All the staff without exception were friendly and helpful. We had a lovely room with a balcony at the back of the hotel. The only down point was that there was often a queue for the lift and a queue for breakfast on one of the mornings.

We stayed here for a 2-day business meeting. The Hotel is ok, but the meeting room wasnt that great. The food in the restaurant was very average, but at least they had a nice roof terrace to get some fresh air and look across the city. Comparing it to other places in the area this is above the (low) standard of other Roman Hotels of similar price/value.

Nice hotel, very well located, good service and fair price for Italy.
Design hotel, maybe renovated not long ago, an old and beautiful building.
On the third floor, room very spacious, in two levels. First level, a living room and a bathroom. Second level the beds and another bathroom. Breakfast at the terrace, an inspiration for the day to start with the top view of Rome.
Friendly staff at the front desk and a helpful doorman.
Did read the reviews of other trip advisors travelers and got very concern. In my opinion the hotel was very nice.

The desk staff ruined our Italy trip Nov. 21-27, 2007.
1) They did NOT give us 13 mesages from our family, and the one message they gave us an hour after it came in, too late to do anything. We missed Thanksgiving dinner with our family in Rome and a reception at the U.S. ambassador's residence. When we checked in, we told them we were expecting an important message. They said they would take messages, but there had been none; we told them we would and we did sit in the lobby for 1 1/2 hours and were told none had come in. When we got to our room, we discovered the phone was broken, told the front desk and nothing was done for the rest of our stay.
2) We asked for a wake-up call for the next morning and were told they would give us one. We were not woken up(phone still broken) and missed an event at the Vatican to which we had VIP tickets.
3) We bought our own alarm clock, but asked relatives to also call us. NONE of the 5 phone calls from our relatives was put through to our room(Phone still broken), and, although they said they would, no staff came to our room to wake us.
Unless you want to deal with people who lie to you and then provide no services, don't stay at this hotel. You'd be better off staying where the staff at least tells you "no messages".

  • Liked — I feel sorry for the rest of the staff. They were o.k.
  • Disliked — The lies told by the desk staff about services they would provide.

At first glance, the hotel looks the part of a 4 star establishment. Once we walked past the slick lobby, made our way up to the second (third) floor in the modern elevator, and walked down the ultracool hallway we found ourselves entering a dank, dark cave of a room. It was tiny. Did I mention dark? Luckily, we did have a window...that faced a brick wall. The only toiletries in the room were a tiny bottle of shampoo and a tiny bottle of shower gel. No bars of soap. The safe didn't work. The bathroom, which at some point in its history was beautiful, had red tile with what used to be white grout. It is now black (I mean this)...thick with mildew and mold. I felt dirty after every shower. The walls were scuffed, the floor was stained, and the beds (two twins) were dressed in questionable linens. They put on a good show in the public areas but you pay for the room and the room was miserable.
