“Modern, Fashion ....small rooms”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

I spent one night. Strategic position in the city Center and close to the train station. Very nice hall with motivs of the 60's, la Dolce Vita etc.. I liked it. When I went to my room, I was sghitly disappointed by the lack of space, albeit the furniture and the bathroom were special. That said, the shower was leeking and the water went everywhere In the room. Superb breakfast on top of the hotel with a fantastic view of the "citta' eterna"!

On arrival at the hotel we had been allocated a room that I can only describe as a city room. It was tiny with a balcony door opening onto the internal fire escape. The room was boiling hot and the air con did not work properly. We complained and were eventually moved to an alternate room which was larger but the air con did not work at all, luckily there was a windows which we had to keep open as it was again too hot. The following day we had to move again , this time we were upgraded to a suite which was very nice! Still hot and air con would not work . However polystyrene cups for coffee making (in a 5 star!) , a coffee machine that the on off switch was broken off, the mini bar leaking, had to use the shower to fill the bath as the button to switch taps not working . The bath leaked . Turn down service first night , none the second, no replacement shower toiletries, used glass not washed just left were they were. All of this left us somewhat deflated. It was only after the first night I read some of the previous reviews and realised most of these issues have been bought up by others before, it does make me wonder whether the hotel are actually doing anything different , a radical re think is needed here, the staff are really nice and helpful and the view from the restaurant is amazing . Great location and near to all the key sights, but I just don't think they have quite got it right , and I am not sure they actually know how to resolve some of the issues. Thank you for the upgrade it was appreciated but you guys need to take note of the issues you have and fix them .

Room Tip: Don't boom a basic if you can afford it go for a suite

Stayed in end 2013; hotel was under renovation. Old carpets and walls. Lift was always slow or out of service. Not a 5 star hotel as in advertisement. Doorperson was nice. Reception was ok with directions.

We stayed at La Griffe for our mini-honeymoon. We booked a standard double room. Before arrival, however I wrote to ask if we could get a bathtub for our special occasion. To our surprise, upon arrival, we got upgraded to a suite and there was a letter addressing to us and a bottle of champagne in our room/amazing suite!!! During our entire stay, all staff were very friendly and attentive. They made us feel special. The bed was king sized and super comfy. Rooftop breakfast was good too, with lovely view over Rome. There is also rooftop jaccuzi but unfortunately it wasn't open. Location was not extremely central (as in middle of attractions) but very close to central station, convenient if you come by train. It takes around 20 mins to walk to spanish steps. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend!

My wife & I stayed here for three days as part of our European honeymoon.
It started with a minor issue when checking in, as we arrived earlier (10:30am) from Munich overnight to Roma termini.

The receptionist was kind enough to ask us to wait at the lobby while she asked the housekeeping to expedite the room. We waited till 11am & decided to look around outside. We returned at 1:30pm but the room was not ready yet. The receptionist said to wait at the lobby again, and that she would again notify us as soon as the room was ready. However, I had to check at reception after waiting till 2pm, and the receptionist appeared surprise that we were still waiting for the room, and that no one has notified us. Finally, after the second check by my, a male receptionist finally advised that the room is ready, and passed us the keys.

We had a pleasant stay afterward, with only the check in process being a minor issue.
They upgraded us to a very nice Junior suite, with a loft bedroom. We appreciated the welcome gesture of a welcome letter & a sparkling wine for our honeymoon by the Hotel management too.

Location-wise, it was very central, with only Roma Termini a 10min stroll away. It was also very easy walking to the meeting point for the Free walking tour, or the Spanish Steps, or Trevi Fountain. We walked almost daily everywhere during our stay in Roma.

We didn't check out the rooftop restaurant or the gym downstair but the WiFi in the room was strong & fast.

Overall it was a pleasant stay at a pleasant hotel in a central location

the staff from the doormen to reception to restaurant and breakfast staff, and a big thank you to the housekeeping staff, the hotel was excellent cannot fault it, even when I was confronted with a shower with a lots of nozzels , turned the shower on and was nearly blasted out the shower door, after I worked it out it was okay. We had a first class room at the front of the hotel third floor, for us country folk it was a bit noisey but people watching was good. Please take into account the city tax in our case we had to pay 70 euros for 5 nights , it doesnt go to the hotel but to the city, thought it was a bit steep good job we had euros left over. There was a great choice at breakfast hot and cold and plenty of it.

Room Tip: if you dont like a noisey room dont get number 310

This hotel is located in the centre of Rome and just walking distance to a lot of places , clean , well decorated , also food and drinks was ok , you can get your breakfast on the roof where you can see most of Rome from the hotel

Room Tip: Try to get room on the Main Street
