We stayed at Caravaggio for two nights. The only thing good about the hotel is its location. It's very close to almost everywhere. But the room was really small even for two people. There was only one window which was pretty small, so the room was always dark during the day. The bathroom was also too small, it was only for one person. The bed was not all comfortable and it was noisy. The hotel was generally noisy. One day, we had to wake up due to the noise cause the cleaing lady were unwrapping some packages but the noise she was making was unbearable. Besides location, the coffee they served at the breakfast was really great. However, the breakfast was poor. I dont think we would stay at this hotel again.

This is not a hotel..its a rent a room set-up. the room was in very poor condition, wallpaper dirty and torn. Furniture in very poor condition. Only one usable power point. Only one bedside table with a broken power switch extension on the top. Behind a torn piece of wallpaper the space was stuffed with old newspapers to fill the hole. The so called bathroom was far too small, nowhere to hang towels or put toiletries. The toilet seat slipped when you sat on it and the shower had a build up of scum. The TV must be 20 years old. The garbage bins were just inside the main entrance and the stairwell walls were full of holes and in disrepair. I suggesst this place is a fire hazard and a safety concern. We thought we would be getting an average hotel room with the usual facilities as the address and hotel name sounded respectable. We feel cheated and tried to move next a.m but after trying 3 hotels in the same area which were full we decided to stay put and be far more careful with our future research. the cost was 140 euros per night which I have since found out means poor accommodation even with a 3 star rating.

Please do not stay here. it was dreadful! I was a single traveller and I was positioned right next to reception. The receptionist tried to follow me into my room. I checked out straight away and stayed at a much nicer hotel- Hotel Virgilio- just down the street. It is a while since I stayed here but I really thought I should warn prospective travellers

I always stay near Termini so that I can get to the airport easily. I've tried a hostel, a large hotel, and now the Hotel Caravaggio on Via Palermo near Via Nationale and all the bus lines. This has been my favorite thus far. (The hostel had no lift; the staff of the large hotel was rude and snooty.) The Caravaggio is about a 10-min walk from the station, or a 10-minute bus ride on the #64. The staff was consistently polite, professional, friendly and very helpful. My single room was the most spacious single I've had in Europe. The bathroom was marble and immaculately kept. No air-conditioning, but they provided a fan. The breakfast was very basic, but adequate. The hotel is on the first floor (second floor to Americans) but there is a lift, or you can use the stairs. You have to buzz and i.d. yourself before they let you in. Close to good restaurants and shopping. Walking distance to all Roman attractions (or you can hop on any of the buses going by on Via Nationale), very close to the Forum, Musei Capitolini and the Coloseum. Economically priced. A very good value for the rapidly deterioriating buck. I would stay here again.
