Hotel Torino was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We stayed for 7 nights in this hotel. When we arrived there was complete indifference to us. not even a 'good afternoon and welcome'. There was no help with our luggage.Breakfast room was filthy and full of pidgeons eating off the tables. There was a bath in the room but no bath plug. We complained about this but nothing was done. We had a triple room. The double room had 2 single beds pushed together. In the single room my son had to sleep on a small sofa as the bed was a very uncomfortable camp bed. The staff were rude and obnoxious. We asked to get 3/4 of a bag of washing done by the hotel laundry service. It would have cost around €20 here in Ireland and they tried to charge us €298. We could get no satisfaction when we complained. They tried to charge us for items that we did not even have in our possession. We would certainly not reccomend this disgusting hotel to anyone who is thinking of going to Rome

We got moved from another 3* hotel (Fiamma) which was over-booked and we certainly didn't complain! The Torino was in a great central location (less than 5 mins walk from 2 metro stops, Termini and Repubblica, and the bus terminal). That said, if you don't mind the heat you can walk to places such as the Colloseum and Pantheon.
It was noisy, but that applies to most of the city, so it's an idea to take earplugs.
The breakfast was excellent, with several nice pastries, 3 different types of both ham and cheese, loads of fresh fruit and yoghurts, fruit juices cereals and so on. The outdoor breakfast room gave reasonable views of Rome. I found everyone friendly, though the hotel was fairly quiet (it was the last full week of July) so no one was too rushed! I also found the decor to be nice - the bed was fine, air conditioning wasn't noisy although the cold tap did make a bit of a funny noise at times! The shower was excellent, we didn't use the bidet at all so can't comment on that. The mini-bar was well stocked if a little pricey but of course you can use the fridge for your own drinks! Perfectly adequate lift, wardrobe, drawers and so on - all in in we enjoyed it and I'd give at least 4 out of 5!
Of course maybe I'm happier because we paid a relatively low amount (as we'd paid for a 3*, around £50 per night for a double room) through lastminute.com.
Enjoy!

Originally booked to stay in hotel viminale but had to transfer here due to a problem at viminale.
The hotel is pretty big and appeared to have conference rooms etc. There was a bar but I never saw this open once during my stay.

We had one of the standard rooms which was big enough for 2 but had an interior view from the window which backed onto a wall. The room was clean and the bathroom was lovely however it only had a standing shower, rather than a bath tub which I saw the superior rooms have. The room had a safe and mini bar (although I did not use the mini bar - there is a Dipidi supermarket a minutes walk away). A/C was good and quiet.

Breakfast was great with cereals, pastries, tea, coffee, fruit, meats, bread, jams, yoghurt etc basically everything you need to get the day started and this was enjoyed every morning on the roof terrace (although inside seating is available).

My only problem with this hotel was the BED. Very important considering its the main use of the room and a comfy bed is needed after a long day sight seeing. The bed was clean but the matress must have been old as it was sunk in the centre. We had ordered a double room which was basically 2 single beds put together so with both of them sinking in the middle, there was a bump in the middle of the bed which meant spreading over to my partners side of the bed was very uncomfortable (some may see that as an advantage but I did not).

All in all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel as its location is perfect - walking distance to many major attractions and a minute away from the main bus/train station.

We arrived in Rome after a cruise of the Greek Islands. The hotel is well located and was clean and the staff friendly.

Nice touches...crisp linen hand towels in the baths, cold breakfast on the rooftop was delicious. The hotel has some recent renovations. The staff helped arrange our tours.

We were surprised the bar just off the lobby was not open either night of our stay. They finally open it at 7:30 pm one evening just as we were leaving for dinner.

One word of caution...watch out for the step at the landing of the main stairway. I slipped and my head crashed into the marble steps.

  • Liked — Clean and location
  • Disliked — All the stairs.
