Stayed here for 4 nights . Was worried after reading some of the recent reviews on this site but was pleasantly surprised, our room was lovely and very clean. The breakfast was excellant and there is a lovely roof terrace. Would definitely stay here again.

We were downgraded to the Hotel Torino from another hotel in the hotel chain due to the fact that we booked through Expedia and not directly with the hotel. The room was a tiny, inside room with a view of the hotel air vent! We could not leave the window open. Even after down-grading us, they didn't bother to upgrade the room. The staff at the front desk was snotty. the bar was never open. The location was ok and the breakfast was the best part of the stay. Thank god we did not need to spend alot of time at the hotel or in the room.

I stayed at the Torino with my partner in February. I was slightly worried because of the reviews I'd read but we had a really lovely stay. The staff at the reception was very friendly by Italian standards and offered a lot of tourist information. Our room was on the 6th floor and was a good size with a particularly large bathroom and shower. Breakfast was one of the best I've had on the continent - I was a big fan of the filled croissants!
I'd booked the hotel mainly because the location was really good, handy for Termini where you can catch both Metro lines and an easy walk to the Coliseum.
One tip I'd give is not to buy any food or drink from shops or stalls near-by, they can spot a tourist a mile off and will consequently charge you double!!

We stayed at the Hotel Torino for 3 inconsecutive nights in January of 2005, during a 2 week vacation in Italy. The hotel is a short walk from the train station (about an hour train ride from the airport - take the Express- no stops) and is within walking distance to Capitoline Hill, the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, etc. Great location! Upon check in, the staff is so rude that it's almost funny. Don't expect any help, let alone an acknowledgment that you asked a question at all. We had to laugh! Sometimes they joined us in a good laugh, so I think they are being rude on purpose. Maybe it adds to the hotel's "charm..." Both rooms we stayed in had extremely clean bathrooms and very old and lumpy beds (I had already expected that after reading the reviews here on TripAdvisor). Our first room had a little balcony with a lemon tree, and a view of the street. The second room had no view or balcony, but that's ok, we just needed a place to sleep after all the walking and site seeing. There's a TV, but no English speaking stations. Breakfast was not bad & the staff was nice enough to hold our luggage for 4 days while we visited other cities. I might stay there again, only because of the location.

We stayed here in Dec 2004. We had a pleasant stay for our first 3 nights because we checked in very early in the day. However, when we returned a week later from Venice and checked in late (11pm) we got awful rooms given to us…. No shower doors, dirty linen, very small, etc. We asked for a room change and was told to deal with it in the morning. We eventually got our room changed but our parents did not. Overall, we had an "ok" time here just because we used it for a place to sleep while we toured Rome. I would NOT stay here for any other reason except to tour the city and convenience to the train station. Highly recommend the restaurant it’s affiliated with below in the basement around the corner.
