We stayed at the Hotel Torino for 3 inconsecutive nights in January of 2005, during a 2 week vacation in Italy. The hotel is a short walk from the train station (about an hour train ride from the airport - take the Express- no stops) and is within walking distance to Capitoline Hill, the Roman Forum, the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, etc. Great location! Upon check in, the staff is so rude that it's almost funny. Don't expect any help, let alone an acknowledgment that you asked a question at all. We had to laugh! Sometimes they joined us in a good laugh, so I think they are being rude on purpose. Maybe it adds to the hotel's "charm..." Both rooms we stayed in had extremely clean bathrooms and very old and lumpy beds (I had already expected that after reading the reviews here on TripAdvisor). Our first room had a little balcony with a lemon tree, and a view of the street. The second room had no view or balcony, but that's ok, we just needed a place to sleep after all the walking and site seeing. There's a TV, but no English speaking stations. Breakfast was not bad & the staff was nice enough to hold our luggage for 4 days while we visited other cities. I might stay there again, only because of the location.
