We have just returned from a 5 day stay at this hotel. We were not impressed overall with the hotel for the following reasons.
1) smallest room we have ever stayed in in any hotel/B&B/hostel
2) unpleasant and surly reception staff. We were woken the night of our arrival by the sound of a screaming argument downstairs, and yes we could easily hear them 1 floor up. At least it was the hotel staff fighting amongest themselves rather than with a guest..we think.
3) stairs to the first floor (where our room was) could only be accessed through a meeting room which remained locked and in use throughout our stay. This left the lift, which broke down repeatedly, twice with my husband inside. (thankfully there wasn't a fire but surely this must be unsafe?)
4) the location is not terribly convenient. Situated, as it is in the middle of the commercial/business district, it is not too far to walk to the Spanish steps (20-25 mins). This is fine during the day but it becomes a little tedious in the evening as dinner/drinks options are very limited nearby and taxis on weekend nights in Rome can be rare indeed!
5) there is no internet access in the hotel and the reception staff were unable to direct me either to a nearby internet cafe or even an ATM machine.
6) the decor represents the worst excesses of bad 1980's design (think lots of cheap and nasty fake black marble)
In short, this hotel represents very poor value for money at it's average rate 200-250 Euro per night, there are far better options in better locations for the same price, just check out the tripadvisor list. If however you are offered a room in Rome for 100 Euro a night like the previous reviewer, then anything short of a cardboard box on the street is good value!
