“Nice Quiet Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

Stayed here for New Years Eve. Was a very nice quiet hotel. Bit of walk to various places and in a very residential area. But close to some very nice traditional restaurants..

Reception staff were very nice and always friendly and helpful with free maps to point you in the right direction. Bar staff were vary often hard to find and had to go looking for them. Very nice area to lounge next to the lobby.

Room was very clean and modern with a comfy bed. Bathroom was fantastic. Modern TV and good size fridge.

The breakfast included was a bit of a let down. Was not expecting a full english but fresh rolls and replenishment of drinks and buffet items needs to be a lot better as bread rolls had been there all week and had to ask waitress 3 times for a tea only for her to serve everyone but us.

One tip would be if going for New Years Eve in Rome is to book a table well ahead of time. Struggled to find a good restaurant which wasn't a fortune.

We very much enjoyed our stay here in Rome. The room was clean and exactly what we needed. The bed was a queen and not just two twins pushed together so one of you don't wake up in the crack of the beds. We aren't sure how we got it because we booked online, but our room had a wonderful balcony (ask for room 210 if possible). The free Wifi was a wonderful perk and the front desk staff was very helpful. We had great restraurant recommendations within just 2-3 blocks walking, we highly recommend the restraurant 44. The breakfast was very tastey, pastries, cereals, yogurts, juices, and individually served coffees. Great spot in Rome, walkable to the Spanish steps and termini station.

We arrived on 27 August 2012 and were greeted by very friendly staff who had arranged our transfer from Fiumicino Airport which all went smoothly. Had requested an early check-in which we received to allow us to make the most of our first day in Rome. We were recommended to dine at "Pinto Gusto" that evening which we just around the corner from Londra and Cargill. What a wonderful evening we had. The Chef even came out to sing happy birthday to my Partner who was celebrating a 'special' birthday, which ended up in a music session, with all of us singing ably assisted by the Chef who was preparing to take part in "Italy's Got Talent". The food was excellent along with all the hospitality!!!

Would just like to say thank you to "Pavio" in the bar who served lovely chilled Prosecco and knew how to make a perfect "gin and tonic"!!!!

Overall we had a wonderful stay in Rome and would definitely stay in the hotel again. The hotel was in a great location, a quiet and chic area, near Villa Borghese. The room met expectations and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and "Pinto Gusto"!!

Room Tip: We did have a Superior room

This was the second time that we have stayed at this hotel and there will definitely be a third. The staff could not have been more helpful, advising and booking trips, the theatre, opera and taxis for us.The room was very clean, beautifully decorated with an enormous comfortable bed. Breakfast was superb with croissants to die for. Not exactly in the heart of the city but only a 15/20 minute walk away from the major tourists spots with good travel links.
We had eight wonderful days here and would highly reccommend it to anyone.

We stayed for three nights in August and had an amazing time. The staff were extremely helpful! They showed us where the best routes around the city were and even gave us a map. We were lucky to have a deal when we booked and were given the junior sweet for the same price. It was very large with dressing room, sofa, table and chairs, very smart bathroom and large bed. The room had a balcony, but it had high walls and you could only see the roof of next doors houses. We would definitely stay again, especially when the breakfast buffet was enormous!

Room Tip: Try and get the junior sweet if possible! Great room!

This hotel was perfect for our long weekend holiday. We found it quite hard to find a decent hotel in Rome and we were glad we stayed here. The location is not the best but the public transport links are about ten mins walk away. We got taxis back in the evening and this was always less than 10 euros from the main tourist areas.

The hotel staff are all very friendly and the rooms were clean. Plus, you get free wifi too!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

I've stayed at this hotel twice now, once at the end of July and again at the end of August and I was well impressed both times.

The standard of the rooms I stayed on was extremely high and the furniture was very comfortable. The first time I stayed there I was shown to a room with twin beds but I had booked a double and when I mentioned this to the porter he immediately sorted this out for me and moved me to another room, with no fuss at all. The only one thing I might recommend they change is perhaps putting more hangers in the wardrobes but this is of course just a minor thing.

The cleanliness of the rooms was of a very high standard too and the housekeeping staff are in everyday to clean and tidy up and sort you with fresh linen. I bumped in to some of the housekeeping staff in the corridors on a couple of occasions and was always greeted with a smile and a 'bonjourno' and it nice to see them having the same cheery attitude as the front of house staff.

I enjoyed the breakfast that was provided each morning, which was a buffet of cold meats, cheeses and a selection of cornflakes and sweet foods. There was also a good selection of juices available too and the staff were usually quite attentive and would ask you if you wanted coffee, cappucino or tea as soon as you had sat down. The standards of hygiene in the breakfast room was as high as in the guest rooms as crockery and cutlery was usually cleared away pretty quickly.

In terms of location I would say the hotel is ideally located for anybody who wants to be able to chill out due to it being a good walk away from the busy parts of town, maybe 20-30 mins away from the action on foot. In my opinion this makes it an ideal place to stay if you prefer to let your feet to get you around as you have a few routes you can take all of which offer you some fantastic things to see on your way. For example if you want to get to the Trevi Fountain you can walk along Via XX Settembre past the Fontana dell'Acqua Felice (Fountain of Moses) and along Via del Quirinale up to the Palace and then follow the directions to the fountain. On foot is most definitely the best way to get around town as there really are so many wonderful sights to see but if this is not your thing you can get buses to wherever you need to get to on Via XX Settembre. One thing to bear in mind if you do choose to walk back is that from the route back from town is uphill so it can get a bit knackering, but there are plenty of stopping points along the way to have a sit down and also lots of fountains too - I recommend getting a drink at the Fontana dell'Acqua Felice (Fountain of Moses) as the water there was especially cool and lovely :-)

In terms of safety getting back to the hotel at night I didn't feel like I was in any danger at all and I was usually out until at least 1 or 2am in the morning, but I should add that I am a man so this may be different for a lady, but saying that I did see ladies walking around at this time alone too so feel confident in saying that this is still safe to do.

When you are checking out, the front desk staff will offer to get you a cab to the airport if you need one, however if your flight isn't until later and you want to chill out for a few hours you can leave your luggage at the hotel and come and collect it.

To sum up, I definitely would recommend this hotel if you want somewhere that isn't in the middle of the action and on my future visits to Rome this will always be my first choice when looking for somewhere to stay :-)

Room Tip: The rooms at the back of the hotel face some kind of office building or something so you might want...
