The hotel was cheap, spotlessly clean and close to the metro and the station. Whilst it isn't in the Spanish Steps area you don't pay those prices and you certainly get good value for money. The hotel is one of the best looking in the area after walking round and seeing some of the others.

Being close to the station gives you access to both Metro lines and lots of busses so if you're not planning on being in the hotel much this is a great area to be.

The staff were friendly and polite and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was good and there were internet connections in reception.

To sum up, you pay for what you get and with this hotel you get everything and more than you would expect and is a great place to be based for a trip to Rome. I'd highly recomend it.

This is a very nice, quiet reasonably priced hotel with easy access to Stazione Termini, the main railway station in Rome. The staff are very accomodating. The breakfast is excellent. I recommend it if you need to be within easy walking distance of the train station, but otherwise the neighborhood isn't the most attractive in Rome. Rooms are spotlessly clean & spacious, but on a cold night I didn't have ability to raise the heat with a thermostat. Late night staff was not very well trained. Front desk woke me up late one night to ask if I needed a train schedule, then gave me wrong information.

We found the Hotel Piemonte fantastic contrary to other reviews. It was only a few streets from the main termini station and was easy to find and well within walking distance. The staff were pleasant, courteous and more than helpful. Breakfast was a typical European fare consisting of bread, ham, salami, cheeses, cerials, etc and was fine. The room was very clean and quite spacious. I happened to glance in other rooms as staff were in cleaning and all appeared similar. I read other reports about the small size of Roman bathrooms but ours was huge with a good shower and well apointed. One evening we decided to get the bus to Piazza Navona but was unsure which bus to get. The gent behind the front desk, who spoke fantastic English by the way, was incredibly helpful. He told us which bus to get on there and back and even drew a map of the route and where to walk once we got off the bus. The only way he could have been more helpful was to have escorted us there personally. Overall, the hotel exceeded our expectations and i recommend it and would not hesitate to stay there again.

We stayed at the Piemonte, Rome for six nights. The room and bathroom were adequate but the bed itself was extremely hard, uncomfortably so. The breakfast was ok - our main complaint is the attitude of the staff - who were absolutely so unfriendly it isn't true! They did not connect with their guests at all - our other concern was that there was a problem with the lock on our bedroom door. It was obviously faulty, and it took ages everytime to gain access - we thought it was just our room but noticed that another couple on the same floor were having the same problem. All in all, slightly disappointing - quite well placed for travel into the city but a 'dodgy' area in the evenings.

I did not stay at this hotel - I enquired, through an online booking system that required a credit card, as to whether or not they had availability.

I received an automated response telling they did, but thought nothing of it as I had decided to stay in a different place - Hotel Capo de l'Africa - FABULOUS by the way ...

During my stay at the Capo, I received an automated email from Piemonte to say that as I had made a CONFIRMED BOOKING (which I had NOT), they would be charging my credit card for a 24 hour stay (85€).

I responded to say that I had not made a confirmed booking, to which they replied telling me that I had clearly not understood the system but that it isn't their fault ....

HOWEVER I HAVE NO CONFIRMATION EMAIL from them because if they HAD Confirmed, I would have immediately written to cancel ...

I am furious with these people ....
