We stayed here for 3 nights (August 2 to 5, 2007). We found it was clean and easy to walk everywhere and see the sights. The hotel was easy to get to from Tuscany. Straight in off the A1. We dropped our car off at the Avis dealer a block away and decided to take the express train back to the airport and this worked out very well. The driving in Italy was crazy and we were glad to return the car!!!! The train station is a short 7 minute walk. We purchased our tickets the day before and simply walked onto the express train in the morning of our flight. This was the way to do it! No fuss or car return problems. Avis was great as there is no fee for returning the car to another location. I found this a grand hotel. It is nicely decorated and we appreciated the free internet access. Breakfast was quite suitable. We were looking for a triple room (traveling with our 21 year old daughter) and this was a very good deal. Our room was on the courtyard and was very quiet. We had a "stay for 3 and pay for 2" deal, so it equalled out to about 130 Euros a night. This was a good deal for Rome in August. We ate at some lovely places within walking distance. The hotel staff was helpful and especially the staff on the main door. My only disappointment was certainly not the hotel, but rather not being allowed to enter the Sistine Chapel as my arms were bare (no shawl). I am still upset about this. Other than that, we saw a lot of Rome in 3 days.

4 Star its certainly not. Room is okay. Modernish and clean. Bathroom only small with shower cubicle no bath. Mould a problem I would say and shower plug blocked. Could have put up with that if the staff had been nicer, but they werent, more of service with a snarl except for one chap on night duty. For GBP132 per night I expected more (sorry I know its Rome but still) and something more central than it really is. Unless you want to be within 10 mins walk of the main station that is. With the lack of any inviting public areas and a junior porter who blocked me from getting out of the lift whilst he had an argument with another member of staff (2 days in a row) then just completely ignored my attempts to get out, was just a bit too much for me to want to stay here again. Described as a Luxury Hotel former residence of some Pope on the Easyjet Hotel portal ?

3 Star okay for 1 or 2 nights and overpriced is more appropiate in my opinion. Sorry dont like slagging hotels but I was really disappointed.

We've just returned from a four night stay, and were impressed. We had a lovely room at the front of the hotel, so good views. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We thought the hotel was in a good location, and walked with ease to most places of interest. Breakfast adequate for continental. We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

this is not a 4* so dont expect the usual care and attention!!!!!!!

on arriving we were given room 310 ( dont stay in this one )
the room its self was a decent size but with three exposed walls it was freezing there was no hot water or heating due to some problem i know these things happen but very little help from the reception. We eventually were moved to the sister hotel valle just around the corner and what a difference, warm and friendly staff and a comfortable room which was a lot cleaner ( no crack and leaking toilet cistern and dirty seat ) than the antico. all you are paying for at the antico is its position.
on the whole the antico is a cold hotel with equally cold and unhelpful reception staff ( well not really they had a portable heater in the reception to keep them warm which was more than we were offered ) nice building but that is it

We had 3 nights at this hotel in Feb and came away feeling that it was ok, but would not stay there again. The location is great and it looks good from the outside with all public areas looking very good. Our room was clean and tidy with a king size bed and serviced daily with clean towels. The bathroom let it down - VERY small, a window with a sign saying 'please do not open window', no ventilation and a fixed head shower that is OK if you are over 6ft tall - but at least there was plenty of hot water. One reason we chose this hotel is it lists on it's own web site and on tripadvisor as having a cocktail bar - we like to relax with a coffee and drink at the end of the evening, but we were told at reception that there is no bar and you must use the minibar in your room (which has limited drinks) - no tea/coffee facilities in room. Overall I would say good 3 star, but struggles to be a 4 star.
