“Nice room. Great value.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

This hotel is not in the heart of Rome however a 15 minute bus ride takes you to Piazza Venezia where everything in Rome to see starts. Free parking. Nice rooms. Modern amenities. Great breakfast included. Twenty five minutes to the airport.

Caveat first: I only stayed one night on a flying business trip and it was lashing so I didn't get to do much exploring in the area. My meeting was within easy walking distance and its probably not the place to base yourself for the main touristy sites. That said, I believe the buses and metros from here to the centre are good.
However if you're interested in the Catacombs or the Appian Way then this would be a good location.
Bedrooms are fine. Clean and modern. Good beds. Good showers. Generous continental breakfast. Had dinner in the restaurant (due to the rain) and was pleasantly surprised. Good food.
One bit of information that might be useful: Ciampino airport is about 15/20mins away by taxi. Taxis will try and charge you the flat rate of 30 euro. Get them to use the metre; it will come to 22/25. That's 5 euro to splash on a nice glass of wine that evening while you bask in the glow of having got one over on the taxis - a rare and excellent pleasure :) As we say in Irish: an rud is anamh is iontach (the rare thing is wonderful).

Hotel Caravel is a great modern hotel with a very friendly and warm staff.

This place makes your stay comfortable and is pretty close & very well connected to Central Rome where all the sights are.

Their restaurant serves a good break first and some very interesting dishes for dinner. They also stock some very good wine (Chianti from Rome is a must have)

Wi-Fi access across the property is a big advantage

Room Tip: The rooms with access to private balcony are a treat

The hotel is very nice and modern. The rooms and bathrooms are very nicely done. The staff is very very helpful. We were given a smaller room on our first day but on request they immediately changed us to a larger room next day. The hotel is not in the centre of Rome but it's only 10-12 mins by bus; that run frequently to centre. We had a transport strike one of the days so had to take a taxi; which was 15 euros to the vatican city. Airport is also 20-25 mins away only. Overall good location, rooms and staff. Would recommend it to anyone.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here on a recent visit to rome. I honestly can't think of one bad thing to say about the hotel. We arrived before our room was ready but we stored our bags and went to explore. Staff we're really pleasant and helpful with what bus to catch (the number 30 stops outside the hotel and goes to all the major spots but make sure you buy a ticket before you get on the bus). Check in was quick and when we arrived at our room it was spotless. The rooms are really modern and personally I think they're great value for the price paid, the only thing is they don't have an iron so make sure to take one as we made that mistake. The room was cleaned daily and towels and sheets changed. Breakfast was your typical continental breakfast, can't complain at all. The only issue that people may find is the location of the hotel, it's not right in the centre of the city but if you're like us and enjoy seeing all areas of the city and learning how to use public transport then it's perfect !! Rome is absolutely gorgeous and we already can't wait to return, it's safe to say this hotel will be on the list of things to return to. Thank you for a lovely stay and for your helpful staff.

I stayed at this modern hotel on a short spring break and was bowled over with the boutique decor and attention to detail. Our room was immaculate with beautiful linen and fluffy towels and the shower was amazing. Breakfast consisted of a wide selection of italian cold meats/cereals/fresh fruit/ pastries/yoghurts and an extensive array of breads and the coffee was to die for... all to be savoured at one's leisure in an elegant & sunny surroundings before setting out to relish 'LA DOCE VITA' & THE ITALIAN CULTURE! would definitely return.

Pros: Clean contemporary hotel, rooms spacious and well equipped. Kettle provided if requested though not standard. Plentiful continental breakfast. Helpful staff, especially Fabio. Cost. Cons : location, too far from popular attractions despite fairly close time consuming public transport and no bar within or close by.

Room Tip: Front room for better view, choose room with a bath
