Would definitely stay again, staff very helpful. 30 mins drive from ciampino airport. And 15 min bus ride from termini metro station. We were both able to move around easily and explore the city. Breakfast was continental and had a good selection to choose from. Would definitely book again if returning! Room was fresh clean and modern. Cannot fault this hotel :-)

I bring a large group in twice a year to the Hotel Caravel and each time I do, the staff is incredible. The front desk is willing to work with our group patiently. Their professionalism is unmatched along with their courtesy, and yet they provide that care that makes you feel like you are staying with family. The Hotel has recently been renovated (last five years) and the rooms are beautiful with all of the comforts you need.
Many reviews talk about the Hotel being far outside the city- I disagree. Rome can be overwhelming and having a place to get to that is a bit quieter and out of the way can be nice to recharge after a long day in the city. Plus, the Garbetella Metro station is a 10 minute walk and the buses can get you to Termini or St. John Lateran as well as Piazza Novona from right across the street. The Catacombs are an easy 10 minute walk as well.
This hotel gets our highest recommendation because of the staff, the quality of the food and services they provide, and the care they show to us while we stay with them.

Stayed here for 3 nights and there is really not much to say to the hotel. Staff is friendly, room is big and clean. Breakfast is also very good. Biggest challenge is the location, nothing to do in the area and the Metro B line is approx. 1km away. There are though busses near the hotel. All in all, a good stay. Would recommend.

We stayed one night at this property prior to departing Rome for a return trip to the United States. The hotel was very modern, clean and the rooms spacious with the bathroom being very user friendly. Our group was served dinner (30 of us) which was tasty, hot and the service was very professional. The breakfast buffet has a make to order coffee machine and more than enough choices of food to start your day. The Hotel does not have a formal bar so if you want an after dinner drink the wait staff takes your order. On checking into the property, we found accessing the hotel WIFI to be very confusing. The hotel WIFI is not complimentary so what's up with that. Members of our group commented on receiving different price quotes to access the WIFI based on who you talked to at the front desk. The price ranged from 5 - 15 Euro's for a connection code. This property is within a 30 minute drive to the Rome airport so it is convenient for a transit situation. The only negative is the Mickey Mouse situation surrounding guest use of the hotel WIFI.

I stayed at the Caravel Hotel this week (16-18th nov) on a 2 day rome trip and 2 day venice, and have to say it was absolutely gorgeous here. The decor is lovely, the breakfast room is gorgeous with drapes and the evening room for tea is stunning with the chandeliers, exactly my taste of hotel, in fact I would love my house like this! The bedrooms were light and airy, I loved the bathroom plenty of space, modern style and nice tiled floor. The bed was extremely comfortable it was the best 2 nights of my holiday and slept so well. The TV had a music on demand channel, as we are english and dont understand Italian this was pretty good alternative as we spent the first night in the room after being tired from the trip listening to music and just chilling out.

What I would say is - dont expect a view as there isnt one really just outside flats and the rate of wifi was expensive, I think these days it should just be free wifi as it seems to be expected. But downstairs in the lobby there is 2 computers and a printer to use as visitors see fit. Also you cant check in until after 2pm and we arrived at 12pm and had to just hang around after a long trip and very tired, but they do let you store luggage so you can go back out and explore so otherwise I cant fault the place, very lovely, helpful staff - even had an umbrella for me when it was tipping it down!

Location isnt perfect but there is a bus stop across the road, a tube line a few blocks down, we walked to the Colosseum from the hotel and it took us 40 minutes. A taxi cost us 12euros from rome termina and 16 euros from the other side so it depends how you feel on that kind of cost.

So overall, brilliant place :)

Room Tip: We were on the 5th floor and there was no noise and the windows are great at shutting out outside no...

Had a nice, incredibly clean room. The bathroom space was a little small but manageable. There was a balcony with a view of the main street. The cleaning service was prompt and phenomenal and left everything intact as well as tidied our pajamas up for us, which we thought was a nice touch.

The waitstaff was friendly, patient and helpful even with a large group like ours. They provided whatever information was needed and dealt admirably with requests for special dietary needs. The buffet breakfasts were large and satisfying and the dinners were always something to look forward to.

Located about a 10 minute walk from the Garbatella metro station, which is not located in a very good area, but has a lot of markets and small cafes available on the way to and from the metro.
