We stayed in a hotel apartment about 200 yds from the hotel which was lovely. Went in through huge doors into a courtyard with statues and fountains, felt very Roman. The apartment had a great shower and modern facilities, 2 tvs, comfortable bed and was fairly quiet. Only thing we didnt like was one very small window looking out onto a statue.

We went to the hotel for breakfast every morning which was on the top floor. This really let the hotel down, only one person working so there was a long wait for tea and coffee, no butter for 2 days, no juice and no yoghurts one day. Not a 3 star breakfast.

The hotel's location was fantastic, we walked to just about everywhere. Loads of places to eat and the streets felt quite safe at night. Would go there again.

Best feature is the location -- the center of old Rome -- nearby streets safe day and night. Our room, in the main building, was large and clean with a comfortable bed; large bath room with lavatory, toilet, bidet, and shower (which was a little on the small size, but certainly adequate). Windows in bath and bedroom allowing cross ventilation. There was only slight to moderate street noise, which could be completely silenced by closing the window and shutters. Adequate to excellent service by the staff. The woman in the breakfast room was especially attentive, and the breakfast, which was served in a delightful sunroom on the top floor, was excellent: coffee or tea, two kinds of fruit juice, corn flakes with milk, prunes, several kinds of sweet and non-sweet breads, a variety of jams, honey, two or three choices of sliced meat and cheese, and fresh fruit (which many took for eating later). We always ate before 9 and never had to wait for a table. There were no eggs, but all in all the breakfast was as good as I have ever seen in a small, moderately priced European hotel -- and much better than most! Two negatives: the Internet system was not working (but there was an “Internet Point” in a bookstore just around the corner – open until 9PM) and the regular TV had only one Italian channel and an intermittent CNN. There was a pay TV system which we did not use.

Great hotel location.
Went to Rome with my wife, sister and my mum and dad,got back yesterday 14-Oct 09.

Get a bus (Terravision) from the Campioni airport to termini for €4 bought from the booth at the airport just opposite after after passport control- bus stop is 25 metres away outside on the left , simple.
Tip-Dont buy off Ryanair as they charge €7
Hotel is hard to find- you can take the 175 bus from Termini (bus stop) buy a ticket from the booth by the bus stop €1
Once you get to the Trevi fountain stand with your back to the fountain and go down the street to the right of the church on the corner( not the street to the left of the church) go up past the chinese restaurant- and take the immediate left- 20 yards up on the left via del Babbuccio.
Everywhere is within walking distance from the hotel - and even my 75 year old mother walked to the Colliseum from the hotel.
You can bus it around Rome for €1 (you have to punch your ticket once on the bus) if you forget you can use on the next bus (not that we did that)
Do not be fooled by the set prices in the Trevi Restaurant- not connected to the Trevi Hotel as far as i know
This place is on the left of theTrevi fountain as you face it, They give you a set menu price, but no drinks menu
We saw 5 English/USA parties query their bills when they arrived and there was some heated arguments with the waiters and management.
We checked our bill and we were charged €6 for a bottle of water and €4 for a glass of coke- a 20cl beer cost €4- rip off prices
The last course of our meal - a supposedly fruit sald- consisted of 6 grapes.
We made known our displeasure of the prices and the food and got €10 off the bill
My advice- do not go there and make sure you check food and drink prices before you go in anywhere.
Tips
Pensioners get in the Colliseum for free- but take your passports with you.
The touts/guides outside tell you it is a 40 minute queue if you don't go in with them. and if you pay them for €25 you can cut the queue.
We did not boter and waited 10 minutes in the normal queue and paid €12, so dont bother, the guides inside are so loud you can hear them wherever you stand on the way around .
St Peters is a must see, and take bottled water with you if you go to the Vatican (Sistine chapel) as it is a long labourious treck to eventually get there after you pay in €14 (no concession for pensioners)
The hotel Trevi is basic for what you pay, nice and clean. The showers were luke warm at best. Breakfast were limited but we expected that
Rome is lovely but you have to do a lot on foot, and having been before i will go back for a third visit soon.

On booking into the Hotel Trevi we had to wait for hours-late afternoon until getting our room. We found ourselves not staying in the actual hotel but being taken up the road to a 5th floor studio. Quite roomy, very new and obviously not completed as electrical wiring had not been finished and joinery not completed. View was overlooking rooftops. Smallest lift ever one person and a bag is a tight fit. Went to breakfast room at the Hotel Trevi but walked out as very small and overcrowded. Location of hotel very close to Trevi fountain and walking distance to many sights. Were glad we had the studio as the hotel looked very compact. Staff not that friendly. Would recommend only for location.
