First let me say, Rome was beautiful, the people friendly and proud of this city. At the Hotel Trevi we booked to stay a full two weeks. Were it not for the excellent service we received from Gianfranco and Massimo we would have left the next day due to the rather snide, rude service we received from one Sonya at the front desk who chose to lock us out of our room on our first day so that we may settle the entire bill. Her attitude was beyond anything we had seen as "well seasoned" travellers.

But back to the hotel, it is clean, close to everything, rooms a bit small, close to everything, rather pricey, but still.......close to everything.

If you're only staying for a couple of nights then this hotel is ok.

Our room was located in an apartment block opposite the hotel on around the 3rd floor. So you had a little bit of a walk to get to breakfast in the morning. - Speaking of which if you're disabled or injured I wouldnt suggest this hotel as there isnt a lift to the breakfast room, you have to walk up a small narrow flight of stairs.

The location however was excellent, postitioned round the corner from the Trevi fountain you're only a short walk away from Rome's main attractions. The furthest being the vatican which took about 20 mins.

The room itself was quite quaint although we had a very loud water tank stored in a locked closet which liked to drip quite a lot whilst your trying to sleep. And unfortunatly for us we had a family in the room adjacent with kids that thought it was fun to run up & down the corridor and scream as loud as possible.

This is a two star hotel, perfect location you can walk to all the major sites, however the rooms are very small, the shower even smaller. The one overwhelming downside was breakfast, awful and very cramped seating. The juice was foul and there was rotting fruit openly on show, don't waste your time unless you are desperate for a cup of tea. Just around the corner from the hotel towards the Trevi there is a fast food sandwich shop which actually serves a really good cheap continental breakfast. If you are just looking for a clean room and bed then this place is fine else spend a little more and go elsewhere. Oh one last thing do not try and find it yourself, get a taxi, its so hidden away.

We liked this place, although it was rather difficult to find. All we were told was that it was "meters away from the Trevi fountain", but when we found the fountain, we had no idea which direction to go from there to find the hotel. It turns out it's in an alley a couple blocks east of the fountain, but there are several one-way alleys there, and if you're in a car, you'll find it difficult to navigate the area. But once we found it, the place was charming, confortable, and convenient. We have good memories of the place and wouldn't hesitate to return if we ever get back to Rome again. By the way, after we unloaded our things, we turned in our rental car so we have no idea if this place even has parking. I wouldn't recommend anyone to deal with a rental car in Rome anyway.

We paid 177 euro ($234) per night at this "3 star" hotel: you could do better.
Pro's: 1) Steps from Trevi fountain
2) Nice breakfast room on the rooftop (get there early to avoid the crowd) .
Con's: 1) No hot water in our room from midnight to about 6:30 AM. We complained several days in a row, but the manager kept saying "it's impossible" because we were the only ones in the hotel complaining. Even the 3rd shift desk staff observed it, but we could not get it fixed. 2) Internet didn't work and TV was intermittent. I think the satellite dish was out of alignment, but they hadn't fixed it the 5 days I was there. 3) No refunds if you leave early..we tried to check out early due to dissatisfaction, but were told that we would have to pay for entire stay.
