i urge you to visit rome because despite all the irritations of the aldobrandeschie this magnificient city is worth it and despite the best efforts of the staff this functional and clean hotel is not ready for visitors
they have no facilities for money changing
it is too far from city centre, ten bus stops and five metro, when we where there in jan 2005 the buses stopped at 1900 for road words which also gave major headheaches for the taxi drivers (most of them had no idea where the hotel was) who charged from E15 - E20, a barrier across the drive was never lifted and this meant a walk across a dark and lonely car park to a very uninviting entrance, it also meant that all traffic sat tooting horns at all hours
breakfast was a totally sweet affair with no chance of anything cooked
and the bar served only packets of nuts
no shoe cleaning machines
dirty laundry was loaded onto a filthy truck through the front entrance
no local info, brochures etc
no fire drill or safety info anywhere displayed
hotel faces noisy rear of melia roma hotel
lots of newspapers and mags but all in italian, tele but only in italian
room service unable to grasp the concept of T for 2 (got a bit annoying after the third time)
one day this hotel might be worth the hassle but not yet, spend the money on accomodation closer to the city and save the taxi fares
