My wife and I stayed here for two weeks in December. It is a nice
hotel, room and shower a bit small but doable, free breakfast every morning, good room service, quiet location and thick curtains (so you can sleep day and night undisturbed). No internet in the rooms, and only one public computer with internet in the lobby ($3 an hour), but it was not occupied too often. Prices are very reasonable.

We had are a family with two young children and needed a centrally located hotel for one night in Rome, the hotel fit the bill perfectly. We had a quadruple room with two twin beds and one queen size bed. The bathroom had clearly been updated, and the hotel was in good condition. I had no problems with my prepaid reservation through hotels.com, and the desk staff was attentitive and polite.

The hotel is very close to Piazza Barbarini, and we had no difficulty walking to the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. As a bonus, its also near the Capuchin Crypt.

The inclusive breakfast included cereals, cold meat and cheese, hard boiled eggs, coffee or hot chocolate, and a good variety of baked goods, which was constantly replenished.

I thought the hotel was a great value, and would not hesitate to stay there again.

After reading reviews, I was a little bit afraid of what might be ahead of us. But when we got to Rome the hotel was a very nice surprise. Yes, the rooms may be tiny (at least compared to Asian hotel rooms),but our room was very nicely decorated and bathroom was clean.

Location of hotel was superb: 2 minutes to the Spanish steps and Trevi Fountain, 10 minutes to Colosseum and 20 to Vatican. And we walked slowly. No need to use taxes (execpt from/to airport).

Staff at the front desk was very helpful (e.g. with restaurants where to eat etc.), staff at the breakfast was ok, not the nicest one, but it didn't bother us.

I had read the reviews about overbookings when I asrrived in Rome. Arrived after two train journeys in La Fenice (sister hotel) to be told there had been a problem "that morning" with their booking system and so we could not stay. I disputed this with the lady as we had booked over 3 weeks in advance but to no avail. She did not seem to care or understad that if you book onilne based on what rooms you see or the location, you would be upset that your plans are ruined. Eventually a car arrived and transferred us to Quattro Fontane. I have to say our room was fine, but am sure this was because I argued with her and heard her over the phone to the receptionist in Quattro Fontane. She offered to move us back to La Fenice in the morning but on a 2 night stay that is ridiculous especially when you're getting up early to sightsee. On a 3 day stay in Rome, losing over an hour trying to sort out a room, being driven to another hotel, finding your bearings (again) is a complete inconvenience but these people have no conscience about this and are extremely rude!
