We found the staff and in particular the reception personnel very welcoming and helpful. On the basis of other reviews we reqested, in advance, a room on the top floor....a good move.
The walk to the 'Stazione' is a bit far but manageable on a cool day. Nearby dining out is great, but the general environment is quite untidy to say the least.
Rooms are clean and well serviced and continental breakfast more than adequate. Walking back from the Stazione is easier, mostly down hill, and saves a 45 euro taxi fare for the short distance....or catch a tram which stops almost at the front door.
The proximity to transport and the city centre overrides any short comings in luxury.

My wife and I stayed here in 2006. It was our first overseas experience and we could not have been happier.

The greeting on arrival was enthusiastic and in English (one of the owners is from Australia). We were given a complete breakdown of what to see and where to go commiserate with our limited stay.

The room was clean and comfortable with an excellent ensuite.

On the whole one of the best experiences we had throughout Europe.

Although in a grotty looking street hotel is in a good location. Good restaurants round the corner. Walking distance to Coliseum. Near public transport. Staff very helpful. Not fluent in English but better than my Italian and always cheerful. Room with bathroom small but clean. Still doing the linen towel thing but not a problem.

Come out of station turn left, dont try and walk with luggage as the ground is uneven. Buy a Daily travel card from newsagent next to the
tram stop and take the tram, it about 2 stops. The hotel room was small, clean and simple and had a great rooftop terrace. No complaints. Helpful day staff, watch out for the recommendation of them booking a taxi for 60 euros for a ride to the airport as the train costs 11 euro per person.

This hotel was recommended by friends who stayed during summer. The room is small but adequate since we were not in the room except to sleep. The bathroom was clean and shower hot. Very basic hotel, friendly staff. Definitely recommend to others. Neighborhood not nice, near Termini station, but took buses and Metro to get around. When we arrived, they recommended restaurant nearby which was great.
