Competely acceptable hotel VERY close to Termini station, just a few blocks away. Very convenient if you are coming into Rome by train or going to the airport. A few caveats: please don't book this hotel if you are looking for plush accommodations, if you are squeamish with lots of graffiti on buildings in the neighborhood, if you are uncomfortable with different nationalities than you walking alongside you on the street, and if you expect a huge breakfast (there's a breakfast room, no restaurant, but an Asian restaurant next door). PLEASE book if you like a comfy room, clean, updated bathroom and shower (though rather small), a little quirkiness (front desk staff has all their reservations in a huge log book - which is probably not unusual for a family-owned hotel), and a simple, complementary breakfast (it's an American thing, I guess, but I admit I'm a little squeamish about room temperature milk on my cereal). You are within walking distance to the wonderful Rome Museum and not too far at all to the Colosseum and the Forum. However, if you want to spend most of your time around the Vatican, this is nowhere close, but again, you have the Termini station with all their connections. Let's say I would definitely stay here again, but probably wouldn't recommend this to people who are not well-travelled, but definitely to people who are there to explore Rome, and want to stay somewhere comfortable for a decent hotel price.
