This hotel is a must for who intends to use the metro as is it only a street away from the station. Apart from that, Termini station is the main connection not just for Rome but for the train connection around Italy. It was very easy for us to continue our holiday in Naples for example.

Regarding the hotel, the staff is very friendly and the receptionists speak very fluent english. We had a very nice welcome, we were given a map on which the receptionist highlighted all the important landmarks of Rome. It was of great help to us.

The rooms are rather small but enough to feel comfortable in it. Both the hotel and the rooms are very clean. Breakfast is basic which means fresh croissant and bread, biscuits, orange juice, tea and coffee. Jams, butter, spreadcheese and others are at your choice.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a basic accomodation because you would have a pleasant stay in Rome for sure.

This hotel is perfect for anyone who wants to travel for a short duration of time, and is travelling on a budget. The hotel is very basic, but still has all the necessary amenities to provide a comfortable and enjoyable stay!!! The rooms are clean and cosy, although they are largely small. The interior is not particularly extravagant, but it is well decorated none the less!!! The staff are generally very helpful and friendly, but the initial welcome on the first day was a little cold! The breakfast selection here again, is rather basic, but still good enough to kick start your day!!! One of the greatest benefits of this hotel is that it is small, and private, so you don't have to worry about the noise, and bustle of fellow stayers!!! As for the location, the Mariano is in one of the seedier parts of Rome, but is still central to the main attractions, majority of which are within close walking proximity. The hotel is also close to the Termini station which is useful if you wish to travel out, or if you're just not much of a walker!!! Overall, I had a pleasant stay; the rooms were comfortable and clean, the location was within good range of all major attractions and the staff were polite and lovely!!!

  • Liked — The staff and the breakfast!!!
  • Disliked — The lift.

This hotel was very good. It is located close to the main train station in Rome. It seems to be in the Chinese district and although there were a few randoms hanging around in the surrounding area sometimes, we didnt feel threatened at any point and nobody ever approached us.

The hotel had very friendly staff who were happy to help at any point during our stay.

The hotel is an ok walk from the Colosseum but Vatican City is probably a bit too far to walk (especially in the heat). We solved this by booking a 2 day pass on the City Sightseeing bus which allows you to hop on and off all day. This was useful to see the further away sites.

The room was fairly small but still sufficient, the ensuite was clean and large enough. Breakfast was typical continental but there was enought choice with cereals, croissants etc. Rooms are secure with CCTV in the corridors, a receptionist who seemed to be there all of the time and a keycard system to enter the rooms.

I would definately recommend this hotel as a good place to see the sites of Rome.

My husband, daughter and myself stayed in this hotel in may for a 4 night break. I booked it on the hotel website and when we got there they did not have a record of the booking even though i had a confirmation received.

This hotel is a three star, centrally located, breakfast not great, cereal , juice, tea or coffee but ok. You get what you pay for. There are 4 star hotels up the street from this hotel. But you can walk to most of the attractions from this hotel. Basic but ok.

Do not stay in this Hotel. Our room was dirty, with mold around the bathtub and hair stuck in the drains. The room also had a disgusting smell that is hard to describe. The hallways are in disrepair. The staff at reception was rude, even insisting on keeping our passports to fill in "documentation"??? and you have to leave your room key when you leave for security reasons because you are staying in one of the worst neighbohood in Rome. Needless to stay we got out of there and found ourselves another Hotel in Rome.
