“Great Location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013

My family of 4 stayed for 5 magnificent nights in late January. The family room had a nice queen size bed with two pull out single beds on each side. There was plenty of room to sit and the bathroom was more than large enough. Even better was the entry to the room, just off the bath, we were all able to dress in privacy. My family loved the breakfast and sitting room off the lobby, it was our meeting place while we were all getting ready for the day, and a wonderful place to sit in the afternoon. Our room was in the front of the hotel which is noisy, but the music of the Italian people speaking soothed us all to sleep. The staff was friendly and very helpful throughout our stay. We would absolutely stay again and recommend to all!

Room Tip: Ask for a room not on the lobby level, there was a lot of activity and could get noisy

Our 3 night stay was great. The hotel is lovely and in a fantastic location enabling you to walk to any of the main tourist sights (you are also in the center of the shopping district if you fancy doubling the cost of your holiday on a handbag). The nearest thing to a bar nearby is the Enoteca Antica, which I highly recommend for a delicious glass of wine in stylish/attractive surroundings. We tried to get a table at the Matricianella but they are closed on Sunday and the hotel staff recommended Le Grotte (don't bother - distinctly average and just expensive). When trying to find the hotel, look for a red flag half way down the street protruding from the 1st floor of the building. We had 3 good days of sightseeing in Rome and at no point felt the need to use any form of transportation which can only be testament to the great location of the hotel. My wife found the mattress a little hard.

We stayed here for our friends birthday at the beginning of February 2013 and it was an excellent choice.
The hotel is very centrally located, in fact we walked to all of the attractions within the city, and the area around the hotel is full of designer shops and restaurants.
The hotel itself is small and incredibly friendly - the staff literally cannot do enough for you. The room was clean with a safe, free minibar stocked with soft drinks and water, a Television and even a bathrobe an slippers! Cons however the bathroom was tiny, verging on too small, the hair dryer was useless, and the lighting was awful (nightmare to do your makeup - girly I know!!) also our room (37) was right next to the breakfast room which meant when everyone else was up for breakfast so were we! The breakfast itself was lovely with fresh fruit, yoghurt, meats and cheese, eggs and warm bread.
One final point the hotel is up 2 flights of stairs with no lift, this was fine for us but anyone with walking difficulties may struggle. I would definately reccomend this hotel to anyone looking for a friendly centrally located hotel in Rome.

Just arrived home from our short break to Rome, having stayed in the city before this hotel was perfect. Its location is second to none, it was my friends birthday and he had always wanted to visit Rome. He walked around in awe everyday as each road from the hotel led to a different historical sight to view.
The hotel itself was beautifully decorated with a classic Roman look, we had to wait an hour or so for our room but were offered coffee and cake while we waited, more than you would ever be offered in England. When arriving at our room we had a call to say reception were sending something up to the room. The knock on the door arrived with a tray of prosecco and nibbles with a Happy Birthday sign for his birthday, it made his day! The small personal touches are what made this hotel special.
I would recommend paying that little extra and staying in the larger rooms on the next floor, as it can be a little noisy, but then don't stay in the centre of rome if your looking for a quiet retreat!

Room Tip: Choose one of the larger Junior suites as they are quieter.

Recently stayed here for a girly weekend with my mum for 2 nights. The location was superb as it was right by the Spanish steps, with easy access to the metro and walking distance to almost everything. The Hotel was a bit hard to find at first because it was located from the 2nd floor upwards with some residential flats underneath, the gated entrance was unclear that it was to the hotel. However, once inside (climbing 2 sets of stairs - there is no lift) the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We were given a room on the 2nd floor where the reception and breakfast room is located, and we had no problems with the noise from the main hallway. The room was tastefully decorated with adequate space for twin beds and a lovely shower room. Even though our room was facing the main road the triple windows helped bar out all the noise. The only problem we did have which resulted in me only giving them 4 stars was the noise that came from the adjoining room. Having wanted to settle in for an early night so that we could have an early start, we were woken up by the unzipping of suitcases, showers going, talking, bedsheets rustling...every possible noise that you would normally expect to make. However, in this case it felt like it was literally in the same room as us, the wall our beds were next to were so thin, it might as well not have been there! I don't know if all the walls are like this in this hotel but the one on the 2nd floor certainly was! The 2nd night was better when the couple in the next room either checked out or moved to another room, but we could still hear snoring during the night.
We were so exhausted we still slept through, but i would advise to anyone wanting to stay here either take a pair of earplugs or do not stay in a room where it was originally one room that has been converted into 2. Shame really because aside from that our stay was really pleasant, and the breakfast selection was adequate. I would stay here again but would still only be for 2 nights or so.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper take a pair of ear plugs or do not stay in one of the smaller rooms as th...

The residence is in the center of everything, realy close to all the must see places. I stayed in a big room but some rooms are in the same floor with the reception which I wont recommend at all. If u want to rest and sleep till noon, dont stay there but chose another central hotel not in the shopping district.

My husband and I stayed here in December for a long weekend break, with two friends. It was a lovely place to stay, the staff were more than helpful and considerate. Small, but the rooms were spacious and well decorated. A more than substantial choice of food at breakfast was available which set us up for the day. Location was excellent for all attractions in Rome and was in a lovely shopping street. I would definitely recomend this hotel, however it is not suitable for the infirm or disabled, as due to the age of the building there are no lifts and a few steps to climb. I would stay there again if I return to Rome and have already recommended it to friends.
