Stayed in hotel rimini for 4 nights from 30th march 2009. we had booked 2 rooms 1 twin room for my sister in law and i to share and a triple room for my husband and 2 sons. Our room was a reasonable size although our bathroom was quite small and a little tired it was clean, the bathroom in the triple room was huge and also clean. The beds were comfortable and the white sheets felt lovely, we also had a safe in our rooms. which was handy. The breakfast which was included in the price was adequate with a good variety of pastries, cereal ,breads, cheese, cold meat , omelete, juices etc.The ladies running the breafast room were all polite and curtious, would make your coffee individually and to your liking.
I would not rate this hotel more than a 3 star but for location definately a 5 star only 50metres or less to termini station which is handy if you need to catch the train and have a lot of luggage to carry. We found the staff friendly and helpfull would help us with the city map and would let us know the best way of getting to locations and would let us know where to be extra carefull of our personal posessions, they also organise day trips for you and were happy to organise our day trip to pompei. overall i would definatelly stay here again on our next trip to rome but if you are looking for a luxurious hotel then this is not the one for you, we were very happy with our stay and would recommend this for location.

We needed a place to stay for 1 night as we were arriving late into Rome and had to be at the Roma Termini early the following morning. We just needed a convenient place to sleep. After reading the reviews on tripadvisor, we were confident that the hotel would be clean. WRONG! This place is a DIVE! Definitely SHOULD NOT be rated a 3 Star hotel. The hotel is run-down and felt more like a 1Star hotel... I think some of the Motel 6's in the US are in better condition! Another review commented on the elevator being small! They were right, the elevator barely fits 2 Large suitcases along with 2 people... but at the time of booking we were not concerned with the elevator as we just wanted a nice place to sleep and since the other reviews claimed the hotel was "clean and spotless" we booked this hotel. BAD IDEA!

The reception area smelled damp and musky... and the man at the desk was not very friendly... we checked in at around 1am and were tired... so we didn't realize that he had kept our passports until the next morning. If you are not comfortable with this, MAKE SURE TO ASK FOR IT BACK. They are not very secure as the passports are siply kept in a cubbyhole and can be easily stolen.

The carpets in the hallway were extremely dirty and worn down. The room itself definitely needed updating. The room was very dark, not very good lighting. The bed comforter has hairs that weren't ours! It was obvious it had not been cleaned... The sheets themselves were crisp and clean thought (or at least appeared to be). The wallpaper in out room was worn and areas of it had started peeling....

The washroom floor has not been cleaned properly as it still had hairs and dust in the corners.... the worse part was that there was a pubic hair on the wondow ledge next to the toilet! That was disgusting! But we were too tired to complain and it didnt seem like the man at the reception would have offered much help anyways and we were too tired to request a room change... we figured we would onlt be sleeping for 6 hours then keaveing anyways...

The location is very good though. Extremely convenient as it is only a 5 minute walk from Roma Termini. I definitely would not recomment staying here for more than 1 night.... but if you just need a place to stay, like we did, the location is great.

If you're here on honeymoon or looking for a romantic place to stay, THIS IS NOT IT!! It is merely a place to sleep that is in a convenient location.

When we returned to Rome 3 days later, we booked at Hotel YES, which is also classified as 3 Star and the same price..... it is only another block down... if you can book the Hotel YES instead! It is the same price.. but FAR BETTER quality and the staff at the front desk are super friendly and helpful. Compared to the Hotel RImini, the Yes Hotel is a far better value.

Hope this helps... cause I find that a lot of the earlier reviews did not honestly reflect the poor condition on the Hotel Rimini....

Management response from HOTELRIMINI, owner
(Management representative)
Apr 16, 2009
our reception - see our picture - is not "musky" neither damp smelled...

our carpet is not dirty as we change it every day and when is not raining we do not use a carpet at all

our man at the reception was not friendly............(really nothing can be said about this complain...our staff is always friendly and helpfull..since 40 years in our business line.)

the room was very dark...(don't know what room they visited really..there are almost 15 light points in everyone of our room)

The bed comforter has hairs ......and was not cleaned...
(we change our linnen daily and carefully )

the wallpeaper in the room has peeling (we do not have wall peaper in the rooms since 3 years)

nothing else to comment about other hotels in our same zone...

My hubsband and I were in Rome at the end of September 08, and stayed at the Rimini for 3 days. I booked the Rimini because of the good critics from Tripadvisor and I do not regret it at all! It was a reasonable price and a 5 minutes walk from the Termini with heavy luggage was also a big plus. If I do remember well we were on the 5th floor. Not a huge room but very clean, we even had a balcony (but who has time to stay in their room in Rome?) The breakfast was also very nice, it really had everything. Not a cheap continental breakfast here! We did talk a couple of time to man at the front desk and he was always very courteous and helpful. The best thing about this hotel is really its proximity to the Termini. From there you can go anywhere very easily (Vatican, Subway, train station, Airport, etc). Would I go back to that hotel? I would say yes in a heartbeat!

  • Liked — Proximity to the Termini station
  • Disliked — The room was a little bit small

Good budget accomodation. Bedrooms were clean and a nice decor with air conditioning but unfortunately the bathroom we had could have done with some modernisation although we did not find this a problem. The 6 floors of the hotel are served by an old fashioned lift which is like something out of a department store. It is meant to hold three people, yeah right, that will be without bags! The buffet breakfast was good and suitable for this star rating with various cooked eggs, hams, cheeses, bread, fruit and croissants. The hotel could not have been handier for transport links of train, metro and buses. Rome is not really a udget city for accomodation but Rimini was a good standard at this price all things considered. If i returned to Rome, this would certainly be the first hotel i would look at for accomodation.
