“Excellent deal!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013 via mobile

When we booked our flight to Rome, one of our bigger difficulties was to book a nice and not to expensive hotel... We found old ones, dirty ones, ugly ones... Expensive ones... And the ones that stayed away from everything! When we found Villa Glori on Booking.com we immediatly add it to our favorite ones, wasn't expensive and it looked nice. When we arrived Rome, our expectations were fullfield! It's not a big hotel, but is a cosy one! Nice decoration ( in constrast to many hotels in Italy), nice bedrooms ( mine was quite smaller than my parents' one), very clean, quiet, nice staff! ( that understands english!! ;) ) The breakfast is nice, has a great variety of things, the one thing they could improve would be by adding fresh fruit to the buffet. One big advantage besides the price, is the excellent location of the hotel! Its not in the centre ( and so, is away of the noise and confusion of all touristic places) but we can easily get in there - either by walking (20minutes away from piazza del poppolo) or by public transports ( the electric stops just in front of the hotel - you can buy tickets in a small kiosk there- and the metro flaminio is just 4 stations away, so trought this you easily get into the centre of Rome! Highly recommended! All family loved it! We want to return!

Trolley out front , easy to get everywhere, staff has bus Tickets and maps. Super nice area, with grocery store and shops close by. Rooms a bit small, and close together. But we were never there so it didn't matter.

A nice and clean hotel a bit north of the city center recently refurbished. It is located in a pleasant and quiet area. Good buffet breakfast above the Italian standard breakfast. Fieindly staff at the reception. They only forgot to offer the promised free welcome drink. Close to the tramstop to Piazza del Popolo. There are plenty of restaurants at walking distance. Free internet that works. Unlike many other Roman hotels everyting that you need in a room and bathroom is working. I will come back for sure.

A nice, clean hotel near the Piazza del Popolo; the nearest subway station is Flaminio. The tour agency that booked air travel and hotels for a trip my traveling companion (TC) and I made to Rome, Athens, and Istanbul selected this hotel for Rome. When we arrived, I requested two beds for us. That fit well into their evident problem and they put us in 2 separate single rooms for the first night at no additional cost. I assume they did not have a double available for that night. Our single rooms were VERY small; the bathrooms were almost as large as the rooms. The next morning we left packed luggage when we left to sightsee. When we returned late in the afternoon, they had moved our luggage into a double room with 2 beds. This room was adequate, but a bit small with only one chair. This wasn’t an issue for us since we the only time we were in the room was at night sleeping. Breakfast was included and served in a small room on the ground floor. Breakfast was adequate with some meats and cheeses in addition to the usual pastries. The hotel was quiet and several meters from the street, except one night a couple (?) in the room across the hall had evidently gone without sex for several days and were making up for lost time; the woman was a moaner, but eventually things quieted down. One drawback was the elevator. Its capacity was three people. I used it once and, being a bit claustrophobic and picturing it getting stuck between floors, used the stairs for the remainder of our stay. We had booked a Vatican tour on-line from our room and the desk gladly printed the confirmation e-mail for us. The hotel also allowed us to store luggage at no cost the day we left Rome. We probably would not choose this hotel again, but only because of its location. It’s 1.8km from the Flaminio Metro station. However, it is about 300 meters from the nearest tram stop; the tram runs from the Flaminio station. Usually my TC and I walked to the Metro since we usually walk between 15,000 and 20,000 steps daily. After reaching the Faminio station we then took the Metro to a station near our destination for the day. We would spend 30-45 minutes going one-way from the hotel to a destination.

Visted as a break for myself to meet up with husband who was at a meeting.Out of the busiest part of the city but easy to get to from the airport by bus/train, metro and tram combination. Combined city transport tickets are reasonably priced. Only a few stops from Piazza del Popolo on the tram. Walking distance from the Vila Giulia Estruscan museum (where strangely you are forbidden to take pictures of the lovely gardens for security reasons), Gallery of Modern art and the gardens at Villa Borghese...if you want to go inside the Villa book ahead.. there was a week's queue when I tried to go.
The hotel is down a quiet flower lined alley away from the main road. Staff friendly. Decent breakfast. Room small but clean for a few days stay. Decent places to eat nearby.

as you will read or have already read, yes the rooms are quite small, and yes there are "people" on here who who have very harshly criticised the hotel for that!! but being 'normal' i went to Rome in order to......well..... SEE ROME!!! if you're looking to spend a lot of time in in a room, with home cooked meals and a large screen TV to watch a film on just like at home....stay home!! if you're looking for a hotel to explore Rome from that is cheaper than the central hotels and in some instances more convenient look no further, there is a tram stop about 40 metres from the hotel (which is free and every 2 minutes) and it stops at Piazza del Popolo, one of the main piazzas, which has a metro station that costs 1.50 per trip to anywhere in Rome!! you can literally get from the hotel to the Colosseum or the Vatican in about 15 minutes without walking more than a few hundred steps!! If i visit Rome again i will definitely, without hesitation, book this place again!! the daytime staff were very good, very helpful and spoke English perfectly, the night staff weren't quite as friendly, or helpful, or polite, or happy, or as good at speaking English, or approachable, but at least there are night staff and someone at the desk 24 hours a day. also, the pizza place opposite the hotel was very good, they also do takeaways, if you wanted to have it in your room :s. the breakfast was average, cereals, eggs, breads, cheeses, hams and doughnuts (thats right, doughnuts!?), im quite happy with cereal so it was fine for me!!
