“Avoid this place it is a total rip-off...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

Beware the nice waiter offering you the house special pasta with shellfish, stating mussels, clams, shrimp, sea-bream, as the one thing he does not mention that comes with this house special is the lobster. Three times I heard him describe this dish to diners, including us and never once did he mention the lobster, which bumped up the price to 50Euro per person for this dish.

Many people arrived, looking at the menu set out on the street, thinking the prices and food seemed OK. The most expensive thing on the menu was the Lobster Noodles at 35 Euro, so to offer out the house special at 50Euro without mentioning the price is shameful to say the least.

Unlike other diners, we were only charged 20 Euro for a bottle of wine, plus the usual charges mentioned below for service and water and of course the waiter tells you as he gives you the bill "tips are not included..."

To be honest, the house special pasta was actually quite nice, but then again at 50 Euro what else would you expect?!!

Rarely do I get ripped off, but on this occasion they won and we (along with may others) lost.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!

“no good feeling after eating here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

We went to Piazza Navona to eat something, but thought the prices were too expensive. On our walk to Piazza Navona, we had seen some great restaurants in smaller streets, so we were heading back to these. But walking to Via Tor Millina, at to the first restaurant on the right, a man tried to convince us to eat there. The prices looked cheap, although there was no cosy atmosphere. He did convince us anyway, saying we would get free bruschetta and free salad and a discount. The free bruschetta was not like real bruschetta and the salad was a really small portion. The lasagna we ordered wasn't bad, but I don't believe it was fresh lasagna, like they told. When we asked for the bill and saw there was no discount, the man who convinced us to eat there, said in a hurry: "The discount is that there is no service cost". The service cost wasn't on the menu, so it would be illegal to ask a service cost. So they didn't do what they promised. It was totally not a cosy place to eat, the toilet was dirty and I was actually happy when I saw not a lot of tourists were convinced too, because I had a really bad feeling after eating here.

“Wrip off-Avoid at all costs”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

We just spent a week in Rome and are regular visitors. We had great meals out apart from this place and but for my 12 yr old daughter getting upset I would have walked out.
The wine prices are ridiculous and not on the food menu. We ordered a way overpriced Prosecco that we knew and liked. A different bottle was brought. The waiter had no idea and placed the bottle in a large ice bucket with no ice. The food arrived and the portions were small but my lasagne was cold in the middle. The waiter took it away but said nothing. The manager came and apologised for the cold food and his waiter who I felt sorry for and was probably poorly paid. The manager said he would get me a fresh lasgne , but the same one re-heated returned.
After all this we were charged 3x2 Euros cover charge which I questioned but the manager stated that the boss would not let him take this off. I think this guy was the boss. We left very disappointed and feeling totally ripped off. This meal was the worst and most expensive of our trip and every other meals were more expensive dishes.
Furthermore the toilets and outside kitchen area are shabby and dirty.
The Tripadvisor sign is prominent outside and this is one of the reasons we went in! This does your web-site no good

“Tourist trap personified”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2013

Spent 4 days in Rome this month with the family, this was far and away the worst experience of the lot. Played us for suckers in upgrading standard menu items to the "special" of the day and charged over double for the privilege, Food moderate at best, service diabolical with 1 hour wait for meals on not an overly busy night, Whacked a non advertised cover and service charge on as well making it a relatively expensive and most unsatisfying dining experience, Seems set up to take advantage of tourists by nailing them for every buck, Worst dining experience of the trip
