My partner and I have been to Rome twice now and each time stayed at the Hotel Zara. The main reason we have selected this hotel has been based on location. You'll be hard pushed to find a more reasonably priced hotel that also allows you to go to any of the attractions (and trust me there are plenty to visit) and they are all within walking distance. The Vatican is about the furthest away a 20 minute stroll taking in all the sights along the way!

The accomodation was clean granted not 5 star rating but I feel people need to consider the amount they are spending on the hotel when selecting it. Not a honeymoon choice but definately a great weekend base with friendly and helpful staff.

We were visiting Rome in august 2002, and we stayed at Hotel Zara. It is not the best hotel in town, obviously, but it is a good option if you don't want to expend all of your money in the hotel.

Our room was large. The bathroom was small. The staff was always friendly and they helped as everytime answering our requests, ginving us tourist advices and also recommeding us places to buy a good sandwich and a fresh juice nearby.

It is not the kind of hotel yo would expecto to spend a romantic honeymoon there but, if you want a clean, comfortable, well located and affordable place to sleep while you are in Rome, this would be a good option.

It is between Via Nazionales (one of the main avenues of Rome) and San Carlo delle Quatro Fontane church, a famous baroque church. Via Veneto and Fontana de Trevi are near (5 min. walking) as Piazza Spagna (10 min.), Piazza Navona (15 min.) or Piazza Venezia (20 min.).

A double room, including breakfast, would cost 70-80 euros. Not too much in Rome.

Stayed in Hotel Zara two weeks ago. We had 3 triple and 1 double rooms for 2 nights. Though early check in was not granted but the front desk allowed us to check in 1 room at the 1st floor.

When we returned, the front desk informed that they have given us 4 rooms on the same floor (4th floor) and luggage has been removed to the 4th floor. Quite a surprise to us after reading all the negative feedback from the TripAdviser!

The 4th floor has no lift. The lift served up to 3rd floor and to walk up for another floor. However, the lift is really tiny and accomodate not more than 5 persons.

Breakfast is very simple. Not a fanstastic spread.
