Clean and tidy hotel in a good location, close to all the sights. Very good continental breakfast that was plentiful, lots of choice and all fresh (the baker delivers every morning). We walked pretty much everywhere except to St. Peter's as that was a bit too far. However we were able to get a sightseeing trip from close by the hotel.

Effecient staff, helpful but not overly friendly (typical roman's I think!) but gave us all the information we needed to know.

Great location for a city centre break. I stayed with my mum for 4 nights and we had a great time. The room was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed but only italian telly, no english channels, which was okay with us as we were out and about most of the time.

Within easy walking distance of the Internationale, where there's lots of shopping. There was plenty of great cheap restaurants in the side streets around the hotel and we could walk to most places. We felt particularly safe walking around at night, two women alone but we kept a tigh hold of our handbags during the day, particulary at the Vatican and the Spanish Steps which are notorious for pick pockets.

A reasonably priced hotel with a great location.

After reading some of the other reviews I was a little bit dubious about staying here - however we needn't have worried at all the hotel was fine, our room was spacious & very clean and had nice hot shower which was the main concern after reading what other people had written!! Hotel itself is in a great location only a few minutes walk into town & the main sights, for what we paid (£79 per night) I thought it was spot on, great place for coming back too & relaxing after a day out - not particularly glamorous etc but you get what you pay for, great value for a 3* star hotel in the city centre overall very good!
I agree with the bad points about the breakfast it was very limited but it was nothing really to complain about - got a cup of tea & toast don't really need much more not gone there for the breakfast! .. Would definitely go back and stay there again

I stayed with my wife at the Virgilio for three nights last December,its in a great location and we found the room to be of a good standard the only thing we didn't like was the breakfast but there are plenty of great places to eat by the hotel.My son and his girlfriend stayed at the Trevi hotel at the same time I personaly preferred the Virgilio.We all enjoyed the trip and the sights and found that most things were in walking distance the open top bus is good value for money .Rome in December is very cold so if you go late in the year take a coat!!!!!

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights. the receptionist Mr. Massimo was very nice, allways helpfull and smily. the breakfast is poor but the hotel's location is great. close to everything: transportation, museums, monuments, shops, restaurants. the room is nice , good for a 3 stars hotel. the price is a little bit expensive for a 3 stars hotel but even so it's worth concerning the location. great choise if you are just thinking of visiting the city and have a place just to sleep.
