Price was the criteria for booking this hotel along with the location for walking to sights. On both counts it fitted the bill perfectly. Five minutes walk from the railway terminus, 25 to Colosseum, 20 to Trevi fountain and Republic square metro for Vatican even nearer than main terminus. With a selection of restaurants within 200 metres you don't have to travel far for dinner if you don't want to walk back into the city. A bank is 50 metres with ATM so everything very convenient. Rooms small but excellently clean and comfortable. Breakfast normal continental buffet arrangement with cold meats, cheeses, cereal, eggs etc. Actually quite good in the price when 4 star hotels in Rome often charge a room rate then 12 to 15 euros per person for breakfast. In Rome you could easily pay double the 84 euro rate I paid for something nowhere near as good as this. Reception staff spoke excellent English and were available to offer as much or as little advice as you need. Some hotels may not have an impressive reception area and no bar or public area to have a drink but without these and choosing carefully you can find a bargain that is basic but comfortable, this is one.
