A pleasant hotel - without frills - however the rooms very modern and clean - with super king bed and good bathroom. Excellent location as within walking distance of the metro and buses. Breakfast was buffet style but with friendly waitress.
Reception staff very friendly. In fact a good all round hotel - which I would come back to.

We found the selene hotel in a small street down the opera plaza, close to the terms of Diocletian. The arrival was quite funny because the building is split in various hotels, with a typical old italian man, sitting in the street in front of the elevator!
Once arrived in the hotel, you may then enjoy the accomodation which is one of the best bargains we could get in Roma : cozy room, bathroom with marmor, everything was fine and the location is very convenient. A few restaurants down the streets close by are there for a wonderful evening. We would go back there as soon as we could!

The most impressive aspect of the hotel was the location. It is so well located and Close to so many of the must see sites and one block from the main station. The room was very nice, spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed. tasty breakfast buffet. The hotel was exactly as portrayed on the web site . If you book from HoteSelene web site is cheaper than other and you can get a good 10%.
The staff assisted us with restaurants (they got 2 run by the Owner: Cucina nazionale and Cotto) , tours, transfer to FCO airport and even showed us how to phone home with a calling card!!! The mini bar in our room was not loaded with anything but we put inside all our stuff Try the hotel restaurant COTTO we went there for a welcome drink… Terrific!

In Rome after a Mediterranean cruise and was seeking a well located hotel to take in as much as possible before heading home. Rome hotels are on the pricier side but the Selene was actually very reasonable. We were traveling with our three year old daughter and were able to book a room with a king size bed, (a REAL one for that matter, not two mattresses pushed together) and a small day bed.

The amenities of the hotel are spartan but this is Rome, it's not like you are going to sit around the hotel!

A continental breakfast was included that proved to be hearty and was accompanied by sensational coffee.

The hotel is a little hard to find although it is walking distance from the main train station, even with luggage. Despite it's center of the city location, the hotel is quiet and the rooms positively perfect for sleeping.

All in all, a safe bet for a brief stay in Rome.
