The most impressive aspect of the hotel was the location. It is so well located and Close to so many of the must see sites and one block from the main station. The room was very nice, spotlessly clean, very comfortable bed. tasty breakfast buffet. The hotel was exactly as portrayed on the web site . If you book from HoteSelene web site is cheaper than other and you can get a good 10%.
The staff assisted us with restaurants (they got 2 run by the Owner: Cucina nazionale and Cotto) , tours, transfer to FCO airport and even showed us how to phone home with a calling card!!! The mini bar in our room was not loaded with anything but we put inside all our stuff Try the hotel restaurant COTTO we went there for a welcome drink… Terrific!

In Rome after a Mediterranean cruise and was seeking a well located hotel to take in as much as possible before heading home. Rome hotels are on the pricier side but the Selene was actually very reasonable. We were traveling with our three year old daughter and were able to book a room with a king size bed, (a REAL one for that matter, not two mattresses pushed together) and a small day bed.

The amenities of the hotel are spartan but this is Rome, it's not like you are going to sit around the hotel!

A continental breakfast was included that proved to be hearty and was accompanied by sensational coffee.

The hotel is a little hard to find although it is walking distance from the main train station, even with luggage. Despite it's center of the city location, the hotel is quiet and the rooms positively perfect for sleeping.

All in all, a safe bet for a brief stay in Rome.

Given the prices of hotels in Rome this was a reasonably priced budget hotel. It is very well located being only five minutes walk from Rome’s main Termini station (and bus terminal) with many good cafes and restaurants nearby. Room decoration is rather dull but the rooms are well soundproofed with efficient and quiet individual air-conditioning control. Very efficient shower, although no bathtub. Minibar was not stocked but was ideal for keeping cold drinks. There was no English language TV channel in my room although it seems that TVs in some rooms did have at least one English channel. Breakfast room was fine with standard buffet breakfast, including ham, salami, boiled eggs and toast. Design of the hotel building which actually houses three separate hotels, with the reception desk in a separate shop in the street, is a bit odd but caused no problems. Check the small print on your booking though – I had not spotted that the internet price was for cash payment only and everyone in our group had to pay an extra 10 euros a night for payment by card.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Selene on the last day of our trip to Italy. We chose to spend our last night there because it was close to Termini and we needed to catch an early flight the next morning.

While the hotel is close to the train station, we found a lot things lacking. Here were the main issues we encountered:
- The TV did not work
- There was a rather large hole in the ceiling close to the overhead light fixture
- The bedspread was stained
- The shower drain clogged - we had water up to our calves as we were taking showers

I do want to mention that the staff was pleasant and we had no issues with our reservation.

We were not able to try the breakfast becasuse we had to leave for the airport very early.

Based on the issues we had, I would not recommed this hotel, with so many others in Rome to choose from,
