i stayed here for 3 nights during the world swimming championships. although my roman native friends told me it would be hopeless for getting in and out, in fact the combination of the hotels free shuttle bus (reservations usually required) and the brilliant public transport in the area (705 bus and then the metro, or the 130 bus all the way to city centre) meant it wasn't too bad at all. the one night i got stuck at the nearest metro station (EUR Fermi on line B) and couldn't find a bus back to the hotel, the reception kindly asked the shuttle bus driver who was passing to rescue me. room was perfectly clean but the air conditioning system was a little noisy to still be able to sleep, but then when i turned it off the room temperature quickly rose to 25 degrees C. you pick and choose ! breakfast was adequate but uninspiring. i liked being able to grab quick meals in the bar in the late evenings and there were some lively crowds of japanese and american guests in the lobby. so if you collect starwood points and want a good base for exploring rome i would recommend this hotel, but if you want to be bang in the middle of the action or need frequent access to your room during the day you will probably want to look elsewhere. it worked for me.
