We were extremely disappointed with our stay at this hotel. It was listed as a 4 star hotel, but I would rate it a 1 star. The elevator is so small that the two of us could barely fit in it with our two pieces of luggage. The room we were assigned to was shabby, faded and not very clean. The air conditioner did not work, the refridgerator barely kept things cool, the tub had several large chips and the towels were terrible. There was regular TV in Italian only, not satellite as was listed and there was no internet access. There was no desk in the room, no clock radio and no safety deposit box at the front desk. In fact there was one person part-time at the desk. They leave after 10:00 p.m. and give you keys to let yourself in. When I showed the desk clerk their website printout listing the above items she just shrugged her shoulders. The so called luxury bath products consisted of small bars of soap and packets of shampoo that you have to rip open. Some of the light bulbs were burned out and the staff said they would be replaced the next day, but that never happened. The breakfast consisted of coffee that we could barely drink and juice that tasted strange to us. There was some rolls, packaged toast and packaged "crousaints." The only good thing about the hotel is that most of the 10 rooms have a view of the Spanish Steps. But be aware that people sit on the steps until around 3:00 a.m. The nights we stayed there was a group of people who sang and played music until after 3:00 p.m. If we had not paid in advance for the room as part of a package we would have left this hotel to find more suitable accommodations. The Metro is around the corner and there are many restaurants and shops nearby. The location is convenient to all the major sights.
