We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in April/May 2005. It was friendly, clean and very central. It had everything we wanted and was a few minutes walk from central station. Our room was on the top floor (6th floor) at the back and looked out onto a central (and very interesting) courtyard. It was large, airy, ensuite with double bed and had more than adequate space for our luggage. There was fresh linen every day. It had a lift and breakfast room. Breakfast was great. I have coeliac and it was no problem for staff to provide a gluten free breakfast for me.Whilst in Rome no-one spends much time in their hotel as there is too much to see and do. Rates were very reasonable. Don't pay for expensive hotels in Rome as you won't spend any time in them . Rome is a wonderful city and this hotel was more than adequate.

Stayed in the Hotel Igea in September 2005 and found it to be very nice. Manuela made the stay very pleasant.

Thanks!

I stayed in the hotel for almost 2 weeks las summer. Manuela, the owner's daughter wasvery courteous with my family. Romualdo (the guy who served breakfast) was serious but after 2 day was smiling ( I dont kno if this is his real name. The neighborhood is ok like any other big city. I would dstay again there, Manuela made the difference.

We arrived in Rome with a reservation at another hotel that was so bad, we decided not to stay there, and on top of that it was New Years Eve, so almost everything was booked. We headed to the train station area because there were so many hotels there. The rooms really do look like dorm rooms. The maids entered our room twice without even knocking. The walls are so thin we heard the man in the room next door snoring all night. The good thing about this hotel is that it encourages you to spend as little time as possbile in your room, and another benefit is that there are a lot of prositutes on the street outside. My advice: when in Rome, don't stay near the train station, and if you have to, don't stay at this hotel.

Just got back from a 4-night stay here. I would highly suggest looking around further before booking this hotel. It was extremely loud. Every time someone walks through the front door, a "ding-dong" sound is made which can be heard throughout the hotel, in your room. This goes on all night. Beginning at around 6am there is extrememly loud banging outside, not sure what this is from...I believe breakfast being prepared. It was hard to get a good night sleep here. The lobby was clean and spacious and the room was a good size as well. Very standard - dorm-like. No real charm or character. Three blocks from the train station, the area is alright but I would definitely try for other areas next time. Staff is not the friendliest. When we checked out we felt like they could have cared less that we were ever there.
