We - two ladies in our sixties - stayed in rooms on the first floor. Room 105 is small, dingy and opens on to a brick wall; the bathroom was much nicer than the bedroom. Room 102 is bigger, overlooks the narrow street which is packed with restaurants and is very noisy until about 1 a.m. Then from 5 a.m. the noise starts up again with dust carts etc. However, the staff were very friendly and efficient, the breakfast good, the bathrooms excellent and the LOCATION FANTASTIC. You can walk to all the main sights, there are plenty of affordable trattoria and pizzeria within a stone's throw. If you book on a high floor, or splash out on a top grade top floor room, you'll be fine. But avoid Room 102 LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!
