I spent 2 nights there because of a conference nearby. A very sad place. They really got their stars in the '70. Everything is old and worn out (carpet, bathroom, staircase). Perhaps it is clean but it does not look like. The location is ok, but not the best place in Rome. Service rude as usual in Rome. I would not go there, it is a waste of money!

Good location, close to major sights such as Colosseum, walking distance from others such as the Trevi Fountain, etc. Clean and simple accommodation, reasonable price, and the breakfasts were a bonus.

The room was small but clean and comfortable.
Good location as very close to train station(walking distance) and short walk to Coloseum and many other sights.
Breakfast was included and was not five star but definitely good enough for us. No complaints about this hotel.

Nice hotel close to Termini

I stayed in the Hotel Commodore for two nights. Having traveled to Rome at least twenty times, I am by now quite familiar with Roman hotels.

For new travelers to Rome the location close to Termini (central station) and the Santa Maria Maggiore is nice, but the main attractions like the Forum, St. Peter's and the centro storico are elsewhere in town. However, since you are within walking distance from the station, you can easily get a bus a metro there. Or you can walk all the way of course, as Rome is a delight to explore on foot!

The hotel itself looks a bit drab on the outside. Inside it looks a lot better than you'd expect, although it does have this 1970s feel. My room was on the top floor, where the promised wifi did not work. I think I was just unlucky, as it worked on all other floors just fine. The staff had no technical knowledge whatsoever, but in general were very friendly and helpful.

The room was quite small though. This was compensated by a bathroom and shower that was just a large as the room itself. Breakfast was pretty good.

All in all I think the hotel is good value for what I spent. If I ever need to stay in this neighbourhood in Rome again, I might consider staying here again.

We arrived at 1 15 am, nearly six hours late due to problems with flights from the UK, but the gentleman at reception was very helpful and we were in our room very quickly. The room was small, but the facilities were clean and comfortable. No view to speak of, only the windows of the building opposite, but we didn't spend too much time in the room anyway. Because of the difficulties with flights, etc, in the UK, we hadn't had an opportunity to confirm a Vatican tour starting at 7 00 am the next morning but, again, with the assistance of the hotel reception staff, we were picked up from the hotel. The hotel is only a 5-10 minute walk (depends if you have luggage to weigh you down) to the Termini, and the Santa Maria Maggiore is opposite the street where the hotel is. The breakfast was good, and the staff very attentive. We would certainly recommend this hotel as good, budget priced accommodation.
