We stayed here for 5 days courtesy of Airmiles in February 2009.Despite being somewhat off the beaten track,( and completely off the Metro !!) we found it was very well served for buses(83 -direct to station for trip out to airport) and trams (19)taking us anywhere we wanted to go.We liked travelling on the bus/tram with our 3 day ticket , and never heard another British voice- great fun!
The hotel itself was comfortable, and unlike some others reviewing here, we had a very spacious room .The reception staff were very helpful advising about which bus/tram to get, and we did not miss going down in to the dark Metro on a Feb night.Breakfast was OK but nothing great. Eating out nearby is a trifle difficult but we found a brilliant little pizzeria literally up the road ( leave the hotel and turn left past the garage)- less than 5 mins walk. Its called Pizzeria Gaudi .Doesnt look much from the outside , but its great ! Excellent food , quirky decor with a little light you switch on when you're ready to order , and always buzzing with Italians rather than tourists- the sign of a good restaurant !
We ate there 3 times ,partly because it was too much of a trail to go back into town on a very cold night , but it was easily the best value we had in Rome( very expensive place !)
One more point about the hotel- altho it is out of the centre, it is ideally situated for the beautiful Borghese park ( round the corner) with the Galleria Borghese .Please take heed of guidbook advice to pre-book timeslot for the gallery - we didnt , and could not get in before we had to leave for airport!!
