Stayed Sept 23-28 and it was a wonderful experience. As mentioned by others, the staff was great, kudos to Ferdinand and Paula. The apt was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. We ran into many people who stayed in hotels at comparable prices but for a lot less room. Why stay in a shoebox if you have Aurelia Residence as an alternative? Bus access was great, the neighborhood was nice, and even the walk from Trestevere was easily done. Yes, there was some traffic noise, but nothing that precluded you from sleeping well. The showers were fine. The location and all of the European characteristics made the experience all the more satisfactory. If it has to be perfect like home, stay home. Kudos to Aurelia Residence San Pietro! I recommend without reservation!

Wow, the Aurelia residence is an amazing place to stay. Far cheaper than an equivalently situated hotel, clean, comfortable, and with the most helpful staff ever. Thanks so much to Gennaro, Diane and Paula especially for telling us how to get places, recommending restaurants and organising a pick-up from the airport.

Not only that, but they responded immediately to an email from me enquiring about an apartment, only a week before we were due to leave for Italy, and I was able to organise the whole thing the same day.

In reference to one of the other reviews, yes the trains are a bit noisy if you have the windows / doors open, but none of the three of us found it stopped us sleeping or in any way detracted from our stay. We will definitely stay here again next time we visit Rome.

First stayed at the Aurelia Residence on my third trip to Rome. I've visited Rome several times since and wouldn't stay anywhere else. The apartments are very large and comfortable. Lots of space for about the same price as a standard hotel room. There is a vcr in each apartment which proves to be a big plus if you're travelling with younger kids. We always pack a few tapes to keep them entertained.

The staff is tremendous. Diana, Paula, and Gennaro always do a great job and really do make you feel welcome.

There is a bit of a problem with limited hot water. So if there are more than 2 in your party, you might have to have some people shower at night and the rest in the morning to ensure ready availabilty of hot water.

There is a very nice restaurant nearby called the Wine Bar as well as a couple of decent pizza places.

A real find! Huge living accommodation, cool and really clean! My wife and me had a 1 bedroomed flat, which had a large bedroom with a new firm bed, a lounge with TV, hi- fi and 2 couches ( stretchable- so it could sleep six) and a very large tiled bathroom. Oh, and a kitchen with all amenities. And cheaper than 2 star hotels on Lastminute ! Breakfast was OK- on a very pleasant roof garden though. Location is not in the thick of things ( plus or minus depending on point of view) but a 10 min walk from San Pietro and on a bus line to Piazza de la Republica. Finally, the weekend receptionist charged our credit card and we, brains cooked by the August sun, did not realise we had paid online at lastminute.com. Come Monday, the management sent us an e- mail to appologise and promptly sent us a checque with our refund.

6 of us stayed in the Aurelia residence apartments. We shared one apartment that was able to sleep 6. The apartment could accomodate 6 quite easily and was well funrnished and in a convenient location for Rome. The staff, Diane and other ladies name I forget were both excellent and very knowledgable.

The downsides were :-

1. Not enough hot water and a small shower cubicle. (Not enough hot water for 2 people let alone 6 so we took it in shifts as to when to have a shower)

2. The apartment in very close to the railway (literally a stones throw) so tends to be noisy as the trains run all night.
