we had a gr8 weekend in rome, the hotel really was'nt anything to rave about, but it was clean and friendly. the location is fab, literally round the corner to the termini, which takes you everywhere. however if you dont mind walking, a good 20 minute walk will take you to most famous sites, colloseum, trevi fountain etc. we mostly walked, so much to see on the way. i asked for a room on the first floor, you should do the same as going up all those flights with luggage might be back breaking for some. we had a small room with a small balcony overlooking roof tops and fans, not attractive, but we were not there to spend time in the hotel! bed was firm and comfy, pillows were not good. the ensuite was ok, clean, good hot water, tiny shower cubicle and im small 5ft 1.
the staff make your bed evryday, but thats as far as it goes, towels are thread bare, bring your own maybe. the staff were very good and leave you to your own devices,
this is the cheapest hotel we have ever stayed in, and i was almost dreading it, but i can honestly say our stay was perfect, we only slept there afterall.
we brought croissants in our suitcase with us, we ate these in the morning and stopped for coffee at cafes for breakfast, saves a fortune . we spent more money on lunch and dinner.
highly recommend dinner at the pantheon, we were entertained by a tenor, really brought in the crowds, magical .
