Small and friendly. The location is great for access to public transportation, it's just a short walk to Termini. Africa Restaurant, located very near, has excellent Ethiopian food, and is a welcomed eating bargain considering the cost of restaurants for Americans right now. They serve an excellent European style breakfast. We didn't spend a lot of time in our room (Rome is too beautiful to waste a second of seeing it), but found it quiet, clean, and staffed with english speaking locals with what seemed like a genuine concern that their guests enjoy themselves. A great budget choic.

I just returned from a one week stay at the Morgana Hotel. I enjoyed my stay there. The rooms are definitely very small (just enough room for the bed and dresser), although you can upgrade to a deluxe room for a bit more money. The location is excellent, as you are just a few steps away from Termini train station and a number of restaurants and tourist attractions.

My only complaint about the hotel was that my telephone in the room didn't work. The staff didn't address the problem until my last day there, which was unfortunate. But overall, the staff were attentive and pleasant throughout my stay.

Breakfast was included in my room rate--although it was very basic: pastries, yogurt and fruit. It is convienent for those who only need a quick bite to eat before getting going in the morning.

This hotel is perfect for the type of traveler who just needs a clean place to sleep. It doesn't have all of the luxuries of the large american hotel chains, but it's also much cheaper than those types of hotels.

If I were to visit Rome again, I would certainly consider returning to the Morgana Hotel.

Stayed here in early July 2008. It is a lovely boutique-style hotel with a nice entrance / courtyard and friendly welcome from reception staff, even though we arrived early. The hotel is close to the Termini, the main train and bus station, but not affected by any noise or bustle from it. Some lovely restaurants and a market in nearby streets. Breakfast is cold buffet style with tea or coffee and is good value and substantial. Bedroom is well-fitted out but bed was quiet small in size and very hard. Slept well though after a day spent walking around the attractions. It was spotlessly clean. Using the bus or metro is easy, One Euro ticket bought from newsagents at Termini enables you to travel anywhere within Rome on either system. If you validate the ticket on the bus you can use it unlimited for 75 minutes. Christian Tours (outside front of Termini) is a good value on-off sightseeing service around the entire city. Two routes but you can swap between them. Highly recommmend visits to Colosseum, Santa Maria Maggiore, Trastevere area, St Peter's Square and Piazza Navona where there are nice restaurants. Would recommend airport transfer with Terravision although you should leave plenty of time for journey back to airport. It is a bit disorganised.

Stayed 4 nights in the Royal Court in June 2008. A lovely Hotel only 500 yards from the Termini and was located on a quiet side street. We were wary of the location when booking having heard the area around the Termini could be dodgy. No problems at all with this Hotel. It's very private and quiet and perfectly safe.
The Hotel itself was spotlessly clean, the Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Continental Breakfast was fine and again no problem if you wanted anything extra or special.
Colosseum, Forum and Via Del Corso are all about a 20 minute walk away. With the Termini so close all of the major sites were very easily accessible via the Metro. Could take either Line A or B from the Termini, so it was all very direct.
Overall I would very highly recommend this Hotel
