This hotel overlooks the Borghese gardens so it is a bit further from the centre but a nice location by this beautiful park which is well worth visiting. (There's a zoo there if you have younger children with you). If you book the tour bus which the hotel recommends you will find it stops near the hotel. (Unfortunately I booked one online which didn't!). It's about 15 mins walk from the Spanish Steps which is a lovely area, good for shopping and restaurants. The hotel itself is very modern with lovely, spacious rooms which are really comfortable. Breakfast is excellent and was included in our deal.

We stayed at the NH Vittorio Veneto for 3 nights in August. The hotel has been refurbished recently and the result is a clean, comfortable, modern finish in the rooms and public areas. The room, while on the smaller side was well appointed and very functional. The bathroom was comparable to hotels that cost several times as much.

The location is convenient to several bus routes into central Rome, Spanish Steps/Trevi area is a 15-20 minute walk, as is Piazza Barbernin (on the metro). The Villa Borghese gardens are right behind the hotel which we found to be a real bonus after a long day of sightseeing.

Service was also quietly competent. While true concierge type service is so-so (I get the sense that outside peak tourist season this is mainly a business hotel), the front desk was able to oblige with requests such as museum reservations and even reheating food bought from outside. They were also very helpful with allowing us to check in almost 6 hours early.

Last but not least, the breakfast buffet is quite comprehensive, more along the lines of an Asian/US hotel breakfast selection than a typical European selection.

Stayed there nearly one week in August and we were surprised at the staff behaviour: it's difficult to believe that a four stars hotel has such a rude and unprofessional personnel!!
Let's start with the pros: the rooms are nice and clean, the hotel location is very good (next to Villa Borghese park, few minutes to Piazza Navona).
And now the cons: the entrance is quite confusing, there are some stairs and never a bell-boy outside to help you if you have your baggage, the front desk staff is slow and unprofessional (when we checked in there were some people coming in and out the back office without even caring about all the guests waiting in the lobby), a maid entered our room although we put the "Do not disturb" paper out of our room door; the breakfast is very poor and, rather ridiculously, ends at 10:00 am despite all the people were on leisure trip..
Is it enough? No, it isn't, because they would be minor inconveniences if only the staff was a little more careful and kind! At the reception and in particular in the breakfast room, the staff (very often without wearing name badge) is extremely impolite and unprofessional!
On the 15th of August, which is a national holiday, a girl at the reception told us, in a brusque way, without even raising her head from what she was doing, that everything was closed and there was nothing to do in Rome that day (actually, it was just the opposite!); at the check-out a boy with a very unfriendly manner, although being informed that we were waiting for a private car to pick us up, didn't do anything when the driver asked for us (finally, we met him by chance). Not to mention the rudeness of the personnel in the breakfast room...
To sum up, we were astonished at their behaviour, especially in a very welcoming city as Rome is!

We stayed here twice on our holiday. First for 2 nights when we first arrived. The airlines lost our backage from St Petersburg, the hotel tried to help, but didn't really do that much. The front office woman was convinced that because we never filed a police report (i've never done this for lost bagage) we wouldn't see our bags again. we left a tag with her for the afternoon, she said she would call, and she claimed she did, and she said they had no knowledge our our luggage. This freaked us out a little, so we called ourselves and they replied that we would have our bags that evening, leading me to question if the front office woman ever called.

Despite this rather small setback, the hotel was lovely, and in a good location (not perfect but good). Also the hotel bed's were awesome. Memory foam bed's with a pillow top made exhausting day wanding around rome a distant memory.

We also stayed at this hotel in our 1 night stop over in rome to catch our flight the next day. The best rest we had in 6 different hotels over 2 weeks.

Stayed at this hotel after booking the LastMinute.com 'Top Secret Hotel' Rome citybreak trip. Really good value for money and hotel quality really good - good size bedrooms with all mod cons and clean etc.
Only drawback was that I had pre-booked an airport transfer through the hotel in advance which had been confirmed on email, but no car turned up to pick us up and when we called the hotel they were not helpful/friendly. On check-in at the hotel, again hotel staff not friendly and they took a long time to go through the necessary procedures.
Great location though at great price. There is a large main road right by the hotel, but we didn't hear the road from our room on the 6th floor. All Rome must-sees are walking distance.
