We just returned from 3 nights at the Hotel Bolivar. The location was fantastic, you can walk to most of the sights in Rome: the Colseium, Trevi Fountain and we even walked back from Easter Mass at St. Peter's Square. The staff were very helpful in answering questions, providing a clean room and serving a wonderful breakfast. We used hotel points for our stay. Our room was basic, clean and everything was in working order. I read the previous review and while I can understand disappointment when the room does not look like what is pictured, it's been my experience that expectations regarding star ratings for rooms in Europe can differ greatly from room ratings in the US. I.E., a five star in Europe probably will not be considered a 5 star in the US. I typically spend a few days in a city and want to explore. I love being able to walk out my door and go to sights quickly and easily and not have the hassle of additional transportation to and from. In this senario, in European cities, where you are very near the attractions (and in a safe area), I find that I typically give up room size and some ammenities and that often times with the star rating, that location is taken into account. Our stay at the Hotel Bolivar allowed us to experience all of Rome, right out our front door. I would go back in a heart beat!

We just got back from our trip to Italy, one of our stays was in Rome at the Hotel Bolivar (Comfort Inn) in Rome. We were there for 4 nights. The staff was fantastic, always willing to help with any questions, friendly, and knowledgable. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was perfect, local to all the sights, and it was easy to walk to all the sites, except the vactican but there is the bus at the corner which can take you there and anywhere else you wanted to go. It is not far from the Train station either. The breakfast was great, cereal, eggs, ham, cheese, crossants, etc. I would definately stay there again.

We've stayed in this hotel with my boyfriend on our last trip in Rome and i have to say that we were very satisfied from the stay. The hotel is in a very good position, in the center of Rome near the Termini station and near to all the important turistic sites. The room was very comfortable and very clean. The personal is kind and available to provide any information u need. I highly recommend it !!

I chose this hotel because of its location. The Colesseum and Forum are less than 5 minutes away in one direction and the Trevi Fountain is less than 5 mins in the other which made the hotel very good for site seeing.

The room was clean and basic. It wasn't large but it was functional for a short break. The bathroom was fairly small and basic with toilet, sink and bath (shower head was on the taps of the bath).

The service was average and helpful. The breakfast was a standard continental (cereal, fruit, toast, bread, cold meats, yoghurts, scrambled eggs and pastries) which was more than enough to set you up for a days walking round a beautiful city.

For a short city break the hotel is fine. If you are looking for a hotel for a honeymoon or special break, I would perhaps think about looking elsewhere.

I cant begin to explain how crap this hotel was. The pretty pictures on their web site is a total lie. We paid good money for a 4 star room for our honeymoon. What we got was nothing that even resembled any of the pictures on their site. We were shoved in a dark room with a window that overlooked at dirty grafiti ally way. The decor of the room was dated back to the 70's with floral wall paper and carpet walls. Nothing worked properly in the room, the taps didnt work, the light were missing trimmings with wires hanging out, we were given to pillows about as thick as the one rag of a blanket they gave us and we had to request more. The staff at the front desk were complete jerks to us as well. The only half decent thing about the hotel was the view from the breakfast room, if you could get past the scowling italian maid serving us. pfft. If your considering this hotel dont bother, you will be ripped off like we were.
